Use this video to guide you through the epley maneuver at home! This is a great technique to use for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Check with your physician prior to performing.

Thanks for this. I can testify that it works for "BPPV." I was experiencing positional vertigo --- that nasty sensation of the world spinning, blurred vision and nausea --- when tilting my head back, rolling over in bed, or bending over. We did this procedure three times, and I found it unpleasant, because it DOES cause the "whirlies" and nausea --- keep a basin handy in case you vomit --- but an hour later I felt better, and the next day was symptom-free. This kind of self-help stuff is what the internet was made for. Thanks again.

I woke up this morning, did a workout and some yoga. Felt great the whole time. At the end of my practice I did a move at which point I got SUPER dizzy. Sat up took some deep breaths, came inside my house and laid down and started to feel nauseous and just horrible all around. I did a tele call with my DR and he recommended this maneuver. It took me a while to even try because I felt so bad..but I did it with the help of my 10 year old daughter. Took a 2 hr nap(propped up with pillows. keep head upright for rest of day) and woke up feeling MUCH better. I was even able to get out of bed for the first time all day and haven't got dizzy since. Wow, I used to think vertigo was just feeling a little dizzy..its next level dizzy!!! I wouldn't wish it upon anyone but this trick worked!!!!!

THIS WORKED FOR ME! I’m a 48-year-old male from the UK. I developed what I soon realised was vertigo on a Friday evening whilst laying in bed. It was horrific, spinning followed by vomiting more spinning and vomiting. I’ve never felt so out of control in all my life, completely debilitating and exhausting. This went on all weekend until on the Sunday when I was able to sit down and have a look at some KZbin info on the condition , I found the Epley manoeuvre and gave it a go immediately twice on the right side with no obvious effects and then once on the left. As soon as I rolled my head over I could feel the spinning and my wife said that my eyes were twitching like mad, I just managed to control it so I wasn’t sick. I went through the manoeuvre holding for 60 seconds in the 3 positions, until I eventually set up. I still felt terrible and it didn’t immediately stop the nausea side of the condition so I went to bed sat up slightly. I woke up at 2 o’clock in the morning for the first time without the room swimming in four days I could’ve cried! I rolled over where I would normally have been back in a flat spin. I went straight back to sleep and woke up like nothing had ever happened. Thank Goodness, my relief was insane. I’d encourage anyone to give it a try.

My husband had this vertigo Sunday, felt very ill, nauseated and dizzy. I googled vertigo on Monday and found the Epley maneuver. I did take him to urgent care to rule out anything serious and the doctor gave us an instruction sheet on the Epley maneuver. We did it Tuesday morning and he had no symptoms by afternoon. He is completely fine and back to 100% normal. The treatment works very well if you have displaced inner ear crystals. He even knows what caused it. It was the noise and vibration from standing too close to a jet engine at work. He got sick immediately and got well immediately after doing the Epley treatment.

This procedure is amazing. A couple months back I started to get headaches and would get really dizzy every day. I was miserable I went to the ER twice and they said I had vertigo and prescribed me some meds that made things much worse. I felt sick and still felt dizzy. So I decided to make an appointment with ENT (Ears, nose & throat) he performed this on me and I felt better instantly. Im starting to feel it come back again but ENT doctor said I can do the Epley Maneuver at home. This stuff works.

This has changed my life. I have been getting dizziness spells for the last 4-5 years. Could swear it was hormonal and to do with getting old. I came across this video and was very skeptical. The first time I did the exercise it felt like I was going to die. I felt so unwell that it took me over 2 hours to feel well enough to fall asleep. I knew I had to try it again even though my symptoms improved significantly as I wanted to make sure the other side didn't need it too. I put it off for a week, afraid of going through that again. Second time a week later I had the symptoms, but they were much milder and lasted a lot less. I did not have any more dizzy spells getting out of bed since the first attempt! Will definitely continue to do this until 100% no symptoms. This has truly changed my life 🙌

Hi, I’m having dizziness too. Can you tell me when you slept after this maneuver did you prop up on the pillows and only lay on your back? Or did you also sleep on your unaffected side? I’m doing these maneuvers, and they work to get rid of the vertigo for the day, but then once I get in bed, it starts all over again. I don’t even know what to do at this point besides go back to see the doctor, and they can’t get me in for weeks. 😭

I suffered with VERTIGO off and on for 14 years. Last year it started and would not go away. I suffered 4 months straight. Then I read about magnesium deficiency and its affects. I went and bought Magnesium Oxide 400 mg and after 3 days I saw a big improvement and in less than a week no more vertigo. My neighbor even used it and is now vertigo free after years of suffering. I have seen that Chelated Magnesium is absorbed more readily so you could try either. It worked for me and my neighbor. I hope it works for you.

This manoeuvre is highly effective in treating dizziness/vertigo symptoms if you have BPPV. However, there are at least 4 main inner ear conditions that can cause vertigo and dizziness. This Eplay manoeuvre will only help if you have BPPV, it won’t help for any other inner ear condition such as Meniere’s Disease, Vestibular Neuronitis or Labyrinthitis whose symptoms are very similar. However, it won't do any harm by trying it. If you have BPPV your symptoms will likely disappear soon after this manoeuvre, if your symptoms persist it is likely you either haven’t got BPPV or you aren’t doing the manoeuvre properly. Please seek professional help for proper diagnosis.

Good to know. I was initially thought to have BPPV by a neurologist who saw me in the ER with severe vertigo and complete deafness in my left ear, still. A day ago I was diagnosed with what they think is vestibular neuritis which explains the vertigo, but not the deafness. I have a family history of vertigo. My ears have been ringing since I was 15. My guess is that it's brought by a virus which just increased my tinnitus or I have the other two options. Meniere's or Labryinthitis. It sucks and I'm still looking for a cure after two weeks.

@@jenk264 It could be Meniere's disease, if you had tinnitus in the affected ear and episodes of vertigo lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours, impaired hearing in that ear which eventually results in deafness. I was diagnosed with it a few years ago, it can be difficult to diagnose so my doctor ruled everything else out. We did a lot of tests (audiometry, caloric test, MRI etc) and only then he suspected it was Meniere's. Unfortunately for me there is no treatment for the vertigo part because my hearing is still good, but for people whose hearing got worse or are deaf there is a way to treat it with gentamicin applied directly - it's an antibiotic that is ototoxic so it basically damages the nerve that's sending your brain impulses that you are feeling dizzy. If it's really impacting the quality of your life ask your doctor about treatments such as this one or even surgery. I just go to the doctors office to get a shot of metoclopramide to stop the nausea and vomiting and I get a benzodiazepine prescribed because severe vertigo gives me panic attacks. I hope you're doing well and I wish you luck in finding out what it is.

Wendy, the side your turn your head that causes dizziness is the affected side. It's possible that both sides can be affected, by the way.

I did this maneuver shortly after lunch and the room started spinning so violently that I heaved all over the place. After cleaning up, and still dizzy as hell, I tried again, this time with success. I slept on 2 pillows to remain at least somewhat erect. Two days later I was fine.

Kudos for the Video! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard about - Schallingora Automatically Update Scheme (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a smashing exclusive guide for getting rid of virtigo without the headache without the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my old buddy Taylor finally got excellent results with it.

My doctor just diagnosed me with BPPV, but I don't think this is what's wrong with me. I have a list of symptoms that are more than just being dizzy and going vertigo. I will give this a try anyhow. I am very frustrated with 90% of my issues going unchecked by my doctor.

1) Most people do not have the therapy/massage table shown here. 2) Even if they did they'd be three feet off the floor and an unattended fall from Vertigo could cause serious injury or death. 3) At home, do as instructed in the video but do it in bed with a pillow between your shoulders.

Emily, I hope you feel better today, did you try this Epley manoeuvre? I've had tinnitius for about a year and only last week I started having vertigo attacks, I agree, it's super scary but the more intense and stress you are, the worse it will get...Vertigo sickness is to stress what fire is to oxygen. Stress makes everything worse. I had a little minor vertigo last night but I got through it without vomiting. Good luck, let me know if this manoeuvre works foryou, i'm going to try it right now.

Good question, I never noticed this as being an ear issue. The first time it ever happened to me, I literally couldn’t lift my head off the floor. I thought I was having a stroke and actually called an ambulance. Learning this maneuver, really helped me, although, I don’t know why she has so many thumbs down 👎🏻

What's not being stated here for those of you viewers, who this may not have worked for is you may also have a crystal in your ear canal and it's on your right side and not your left. You would need to perform this exact same maneuver by starting with your head to the right and doing everything exactly the opposite is this video shows. This video is for the left side only. If the crystal is in your right ear you would need to do everything on your right side, turning your head the opposite way sitting up the opposite way. Midfielder important to note here, that you do need to wait the full 30 seconds or up to 60 seconds for the crystals to travel through Troy inner ear canal's fluid. If, after performing these procedures, you do not get relief there is a chance that this may not be your problem and instead, research these common inner ear issues or other issues similar: Vestibular neuritis, Vestibular migraine, MDDS, SCDS or Meneire's DX. Seek a ear, nose and throat specialist.
