I see that you take requests so if I might ask, there is a Tom Hanks movie "That Thing You Do," that has a pretty cool bass line on one of the songs "Dance With Me." Hey James. I am battling to get my RH fingers ie index and middle fingers to "work" in time with my fretting hand. I tend to favour the index instead of alternating 1 &2 fingers . Any exercises to rectify this?

Edwin Engelbrecht I would start off very slowly doing one finger per fret exercises.... Your index will line up with your first and third fingers and middle with second and 4th Just one one string to begin with. Start slowly so you have a lot of time to think...

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm new and I'm not sure I understand this. If you are playing in C, the C is the I chord, right? What if you are playing something in -for example - G? Does the G become the I chord?

Chords are 3 or more notes played together more often than not played by the guitar / piano. As bass players the note we choose in the beginning is always the root or the lowest note of the chord. Make sense?
