Really liked the break down at the start. I'm sure a lot of people didn't take into consideration what goes into these videos and what you consider when making them. Also, just because someone disagrees with your build, they can always just do their own thing. Your builds aren't the be all end all (though they are super fun). That said, if these break downs are too stressful for you to make, maybe reserve them for highly contentious characters that people are bound to disagree on and possibly just leave a summary in the description.

Posting for the algorithm: Would sequester not be better for Angelo? After all, Angelo is immortal now that he IS the rock. Another good choice for turning him into a rock could be imprisonment, if you homebrew flavour minimus containment to be a large rock. Yes, these are 7th and 9th level spells, and bards don't get those normally, but you can fix that with magical secrets. However, this seriously fucks over the echo knight part of this. Footnotes: 1: flesh to stone doesn't let the target speak. Minimum containment does, technically, but it doesn't make the person a huge rock. 2. Sequester says the person is placed in a state of suspended animation, but it isn't very specific about it being incapable of speech, thought, etc.. I guess it requires a lot of dm adjudication, like the rest of this game. 3. I'm still impressed by the video.

@DukeChutney4 жыл бұрын
A big part of making Agent 47 work is the part where he can do basically everything, from being a sushi chef to a clown to a bellboy and so on. You need a lot of skills to fit in in your assumed identity and be charismatic enough to make people not question who you are or why you're here. I would go Lore Bard starting out with a few levels in Rogue. Variant human for the Skilled feat (3 skill proficiencies), start as a Rogue for 4 skills with Expertise in 2 of them (probably Stealth and Deception), the third level of Lore Bard gives 3 skills, pick up the Prodigy feat for another skill and skill proficiency. Obviously this is just of the top of my head, but that's how I'd do it. Edit: If you wanted to lean harder into the ridiculous nature of 47's disguises, you could swap Lore for Eloquence to get Silver Tongue, which amounts to Diet Glibness at Bard 3.

I wonder how Kira would be built. My initial thoughts are a Rogue/Wizard multiclass-Assassin and Evocation probably-but Sneak Attack doesn’t work with spells, it only works with ranged weapons or melee weapons with the Finesse property. Monk’s Martial Arts also doesn’t work, because that doesn’t say it makes your unarmed strikes finesse weapons, it just says you can use your Dex instead of Str for attack and damage rolls. (Which IS what Finesse is, but they specifically didn’t say Finesse, which is probably intentional.) The only circumstance in which Sneak Attack damage could be added to a spell would be a spell that makes a melee weapon attack. (Or a ranged weapon attack, I guess-maybe Magic Stone does that?) But that’s only if the weapon is a finesse weapon, and we’re back to square one because Murderous Monarch’s paws aren’t really anything but unarmed strikes, so trying to get Sneak Attack on them seems pointless. Okay, no problem-let’s take a dagger and say that it’s the cat’s claws, or just not use melee attacks because Crazy Diamond is faster anyways. But yeah, about those cat claws-I got ahead of myself and we don’t actually have Killer Queen yet. The Phantasmal Killer spell is nice, but doesn’t *really* fit. Any of the other solutions that you proposed in the video like Echo Knight would require giving up on a Rogue subclass, unless we ditch Wish (Bites the Dust), which is probably an okay idea? Besides that, there’s also the possibility of the Shadow Sorcerer’s Hound of Ill Omen (just flavor it to be a catman instead, it’s a medium creature that only uses the *statistics* of a dire wolf with specific changes), which would still be open to use Wish, but the other class features are... well, actually, they could be in-character for Kira. Strength of the Grave COULD be a mini-Bites the Dust? Or the Stray Cat bubble block? The Darkvision and ability to cast Darkness are whatever, but maybe Kira could see through Killer Queen’s kitty-cat eyes? And in the anime, he summons Killer Queen with a shadowy effect. Maybe this is the way to go, then. For Sheer Heart Attack, the closest is probably the Explosive Cannon feature from Artillerist Artificer, which allows you to make a little tank that can get real close to your enemies and then blow itself up. However, this is a 9th level ability, which requires a lot of investment in a class that’s not really all that in-character. 9 levels of Artillerist *would* give you Fireball and Glyph of Warding (which are probably the best spells for Killer Queen’s primary bomb), but I just can’t see Kira doing the whole tool thing. The better choice is probably some sort of familiar, which you can summon at the same time as the Hound, so it’d probably not be too wild to say it pops off the thing’s hand. On to Bites the Dust. There’s no real way to rewind time besides a Wish spell, so that’d require 17 levels of Wizard or Sorcerer, which is a heavy investment that may be worth leaving to the chance that you get your hands on a powerful magic item. Six levels of Shadow Sorcerer and nine levels of Assassin Rogue would give us the ability to Sneak Attack when we need to, use Killer Queen, use Sheer Heart Attack, and disguise ourselves if the going gets tough. (RAW says you can’t have an identity that belongs to someone else, but if you kill them, you can take their identity, right? Flawless logic.) 13 levels of Assassin would let us practice our handwriting and impressions if we studied our victim before death, and also give two more ability score improvements, which is pretty nice, but focusing on Sorcerer might be the better way to go if you want more uses of Killer Queen. And scene. There’s my take. Not sure if I’m missing anything obviously Kira-like, but that’s about the best I could come up with. What would you guys do? Anyways, watch out for those Land Vehicles, they can be a real pain in the neck.

A lot of people here say that they do not like the section where you explain stuff because it puts a lot of pressure on you. I think diffirently, the section really sets it into stone how much of a passion is this channe to you, why? You took out of your usual 5-6 page script a page and a half just to prove that somethings are just better if looked at in multiple ways. I appreciate it completely, and I hope that if it were to come to it, i would rather have it be a section at the end of videos and much less driven by stress and more so by understanding, maybe after the pros and cons, so in the order of things it would come to be the reasons section, just state three reasons and add as much as bout them as you feel like to it. It honestly brings the videos together in a much comprehensible way about how you do your builds, even if its a process you conclude with multiple opinions, you are Tulok, so its what you say that matters in the end results. Hope you have a nice day Tulok, and drink some waters, hydration is important.

The "Why I didn"t" is really good, if you can keep up with this (since it is a part of your research) it is a nice addition. Plus it give fresh idea as a brewer

I definitely like the shorter "why character X isnt built with Y" at the end of the videos. Plus it gives us the fun "We'll get those monk levels later.... wait, we're level 20? oh no!" Its also just fun to see what YOUR interpretation of a character is. Like you always say with spells and level orders, do what you want at home

Best video you've made so far! As a fan of Jojo's, DnD, and theory-crafting, this hits hard. I specifically enjoyed the segment where you explain why you didn't use certain classes or builds. Keep up the good work!

I really like “why didn’t I”, it gave me some neat insight of how you make the builds - and some mad respect for you for doing this 2 times a week. I will say that this was a little too much - but Josuke is a complex build so it’s very much justified. If you don’t like doing this section then I completely understand not doing it - but for videos that pull in a lot of views and where you end up doing something unconventional (Deku, Goku, Gandalf or maybe even Wario or something like that) I would be happy to see this section return. Also, I really like the weird trilogy of Stand Users - Jotaro’s build focuses on doing as many punches as humanly possible, Dio’s build focuses on getting a buff spirit man to fight for you, and Josuke’s build focuses on doing some weird things with your weird abilities. Overall I loved this video (admittedly I am a part of the Great Jotaro Migration of 2019 so there’s that) and I really do think it’s stellar work. Don’t know how to end this so yeah

Personally, I enjoy the explanations at the beginning. Fun alternative routes you can always try just for funs, even if not the most accurate or optimal path.

We love you Tulok, the longer video format is great! Feel free to judge script length on a video-by-video basis, they don't all have to be long.

Definitely love the explanation of different ideas. Helps with people wanting to make their own builds and aren't worried about maintaining certain aspects or abilities of the character, such as having flesh to stone here.

I loved all of this video, but it IS the build that matters. I won't be bitter if we don't see this format again. It was awesome to learn about your build process though. I've always been curious. Thanks Tulok!

Love the new segment, it's really nice to see ideas you had and scrapped along the way. Now, to watch the rest of the video and get mad that you misrepresented a fictional person in a table top role playing game.

I actually like the "how not to do it", it gives a deeper understanding of why you did it your way

I really like the 'why I didn't do X' section personally! Not just cause I imagine it'll cut a lot of arguments about builds, but because it also gives ideas for similar different builds (for example, you brought up ranger and how it could actually be a pretty interesting Stand Build iirc). That's cool. I can see if inspiring people to look in to other classes for their own characters but only do it if you want to imo. It's your content, what's important is you're happy with it and enjoy it
