My Sheik build is High Elf Shadow Monk (appropriate for someone trained by the Sage of Shadow) Bard. I was thinking of Divine Soul instead to have magic and access to healing spells, but the GM and some of the other players wanted to see if I could make a Monk Bard work. Personality wise, she's more like BotW's Zelda, the weight of the world on her shoulders and hard on herself. She's the leader of her team and last I played her, right after picking up the level of bard, she enrolled in a leadership class to become a better leader for her team. She had even took up several odd jobs to be able to buy custom gifts for her teammates such as a fancy cape that never gets dirty. My fellow players really love that character lol

I agree. That makes sense in terms of accuracy and she would get cleric spells this way as well. It would also synergize better with all the charisma skills the video mentions. Unfortunately, it makes Wisdom less relevant mechanically which can get awkward for the bearer of the Triforce of Wisdom.

I have a character that might be hard. (I have no idea since I don't play the game but would love to.) But the character I have in mind is LeLouch Vi Britannia. Low strength skill (if we are being totally accurate, have almost NO strength.), but incredibly high wisdom and intelligence. You are the brains of the group; formulating strategies, analyzing enemies, manipulation through wordplay and through magic means if needed. LeLouche will be a military leader and take guards from towns on quests, meaning you have expendable forces to use while your party formulates strategies or heal up.

I'm happy Jonathon is winning the pole, but I would love to see how you'd make bowser. As a big fan of bowser myself, I've thought about this build too. My idea was multi-classing dragon soul sorcerer with either fighter or barbarian. Being a tortle gives him great AC, and dragon soul sorcerer not only powers up his fire spells but also gives him the dragon aesthetics- Red hair, horns and spikes on his shell, etc. In the first mario game Bowser turns the mushroom kingdom citizens into bricks, so I figure polymorph would be one of bowser's higher level sorcerer spells, while taking as many fire spells as possible and some utility like jump and Enlarge/reduce. Ive found the Mariner fighting style goes great on tortles giving another +1 to AC, and the swim speed pairs well with their ability to hold their breath for an hour, I guess this could help with the water levels? lol. Going barbarian would mess with the spell casting, and unarmoured defence wouldn't top the tortle natural AC, so I feel like fighter would be the better choice. I figured the Brute archetype could bump up the damage of his claws, otherwise maybe champion or even battle master, since he leads an army he probably knows a thing or two about military arts

Depends on the stage! No items, final destination, Ganondorf wins, he hits too hard. If theres a vantage point Link or Zelda can slink away to and shoot from, it's in their favor, probably Links.

I would've gone for a Variant Human: Divine Soul Sorcerer 12, Way of Shadow Monk 6, and Cleric Light Domain 2 with the Noble background (Taking the Weapon Master Feat so you can get that Longbow, Longsword, and Rapier). But then again, I didn't take 7th monk because Zelda ends up frozen in fear a lot, and I didn't give her more cleric because her powers are usually from her bloodline and their knowledge of religion, rather than from her devotion to the gods. And I didn't want her to reach 14th level of Divine Soul because she never grows wings to fly, which along with darkvision were also why I didn't choose Protector Aasimar, and I thought High Elf didn't fit since elves live longer than most zeldas (who seem to live normal lifespans) but also Zelda definitely seems to sleep/lack darkvision/not be skilled with swords/weak to charm spells/etc. Fantastic video all in all.

in pathfinder their is a classes called the vigilante which basically is generally making 2 character a public personality and masked one sort of theme basically batman or such would likely take levels in the class same with zelda/shiek i think though from what i recall looked through it so far its more of a non combat type of class compared to a number so would likely require a decent amount of levels in more combat focused classes if wanted to be used in combat

Yeah, I think they only have a restriction on how many cantrips they know, level 1 and up spells it just says they prepare them from the cleric spell list.

I still think a Multi-class build consisting of Shadow Monk X Ranger would be good for trying to do Nightwing in DnD with the usual stats you get as a Monk covering Nightwing's mastery of martial arts and the fact he is the number one acrobat in the DC universe along with the attack bonus for using martial type melee weapons since Nightwing's main weapon of choice is his Escrima Sticks which can fuse into a quarter-staff, the advancement into the Path of Shadows and upgrade into a Shadow Monk will give him stealth skills again he was trained by Batman so Dick is well versed in stealth and stealth tactics plus he gets a damage bonus when using throwing weapons and we can argue that the throwing knives can be seen as the DnD equivalent to his Wing-Dings, and then after enough levels as a Shadow Monk you can then go into the Ranger class which grant not only more bonus damage when using projectiles/throwing weapons, but also gives Nightwing access to the Favored Terrain skill and Preferred Target skill both of which are important skills to have since Dick is a master detective and master tracker again this is due to his training under Batman with the terrain choice for Favored Terrain being cities/towns/villages due to the fact Nightwing mostly operates in the cities of Gotham City, and Bludhaven, and the enemy choice for Preferred Target being human/humanoid targets due to the fact Nightwing usually battles regular human criminals, and super-powered humanoid threats. If it's possible Inspiring Leader can be added to reference the fact Nightwing has led the Teen Titans, Young Justice, and currently the Titans.

I certainly wasn't expecting a Zelda/Sheik build. I _should_ have, but I spent very little time playing Smash over the years (not much of a fighting game fan) and more time playing the actual Zelda games (and Sheik was only in one game). So this was a pleasant surprise for me. I really like this build and am _definitely_ keeping this one in my notes. I didn't think cleric and rogue could mix like that, but this proved me wrong for sure. P. S. My vote's for Jonathan. XD

(Leaving this update as a reply to my original comment due to the gap in time between comments) Sorry for leaving a second comment much later after my first, but I _just_ noticed this after watching the video a second time. You recommended taking Stealth, Performance, and Sleight of Hand as your skill proficiencies with the Skilled feat, but you also recommended swapping proficiency with Persuasion for Performance while taking the Noble background. Why not leave the Noble background as is? A princess, even a young one, has to learn how to bargain with diplomats or give speeches to her subjects. The Performance skill is more for entertainment like playing music, which explains why Sheik teaches Link several songs that he plays on the ocarina along the way, so it would make sense to wait for that one. As for the second class skill, I’d recommend Insight at the start. She also has to learn when a foreign official is lying (Ganondorf, no doubt, has gotten really good at that over time as well). Not to mention, since she’s gotten really good at deceiving people with her Sheik disguise, it takes a liar to know a liar.

Just to clear it up because you always mention it every time Nature or Religion come up: the reason they’re intelligence-based is because they’re basically lore skills. Proficiency in Nature doesn’t mean you have affinity for nature, it means you have studied nature. You could live in the middle of a city and have nature proficiency just from books. The same goes for Religion. It’s your knowledge of religious lore, not your ability to commune with the gods.

You cited long lifespan for her and Link but Hylians don't seem to have a lifespan much different from humans. In BotW, what you mentioned with Link, he only lived that long because he was put in stasis, and Zelda too for that matter (hopefully the sequel will explain why she didn't age). The only species we see who were around when the calamity happened are Zora (who seem to live for centuries) and Sheikah (who are likely related to Hylians but are distinctly different, and even then we only meet three of them who were around then). Also, when has Zelda resurrected anyone? I haven't played all the games so I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Actually, an incredibly fitting race would have been Changeling - a race where the idea is you create an alter ego. If that's not fitting for a character like this then I don't know what is. You even gain expertise with a tool associated with that alter ego (A harp or ocarina would be perfect in this case). It also gets +2 Charisma and +1 Dexterity or Intelligence, meaning ASI wise it's the same as High Elf. There are other bonuses Changelings have too, but I guess you'd have to see which ones you like best.

I know you probably won't see this, but if you do, would you consider making a video for shulk from xenoblade? I feel like he would be an interesting character to try to play dnd with, and I feel like a good substitute for his ability to see the future would be a build that allows for some good rerolls. Idk much about dnd tho, so that's all I got.
