I found this so easy to follow. The best headstand tutorial I've seen.

Hello Heather! I’ve created a playlist of your tutorials into a sequence and it’s so amazing! While I have been able to get into sirsasana 2, I’ve been struggling with sirsasana 1. As I slowly lift my hips up to get into position at 8:10, my elbows start to lift too. I’ve been trying to troubleshoot this problem but to no avail…

Hi 😀 wow, that's great you've created a playlist. I'd be interested to know which videos you've put in your playlist and in what order. Have you created a full length class by adding some of these shorter videos together? As for your elbows lifting, I wonder if it would be helpful to put a blanket underneath your elbows so they still have something to press into. Give that a go and let me know if it helps.

So well explained Heather. Since you brought up sequencing, can you directly practise by starting with headstand and move to shoulder stand afterwards or is there anything pre headstand?

Thanks P 😀 It is possible to start your practise with headstand and in fact in the back of BKS Iyengar's book "Light on Yoga", he has 300 weeks worth of practice sequences to go through and the majority of these begin with headstand (ie no preparation). Some may say that is the 'old school' approach and these days we most often practice at least downward facing dog pose before our headstand. Happy practicing 🙏
