From the creators of the patented Bubble Purge G2 Hydraulic Steering Purge Kit, Tyler Holland, and the company that sells the Bubble Purge G2, Outboard Specialty Tools, we show a quick demo on how to prime the Cylinder Attachment using the unique fittings that come with all G2 Kits. Removing the air from the Cylinder Attachment is an important step for smaller jobs where you are just removing small amounts of air from a mostly filled steering system or where you are going to by-pass the hydraulic steering system completely in order to isolate and diagnose other problems that routinely occur in some outboards such as seized or stiff pilot tube, which causes the motor to be very difficult to turn or push by hand when the steering controls are bypassed or when you are inspecting the SeaStar Components such as helm, hoses and cylinder for movement, range of motion, mounting hardware and components of your BayStar, SeaStar or UFlex cylinder. This method is also used to check the helm to see if it is building pressure when turning the helm pump/steering wheel. These issues are easy to find and diagnose when you are able to bypass the hydraulics, which takes a few second when using this method.
