I went with SR springs and Koni struts and shocks. We only use our Mustang to cruise on Sundays, so I didn't want to spend more money. It's currently in the paint shop getting a color change.

I had a 2013gt that had this crazy gear wind from the back, took it to 3 different ford dealerships and they all gave me this crazy ideas of what it could be even suggesting i need a whole new rear end. What it actually was is that i had the wrong friction additive to the rear end oil 🤦♂️. Took years to figure this out.

Excellent video, late to see it, though. Much more info here than from American Muscle. I have a question too. Does the kit come with alignment specs? I know I'll need to have everything realigned once I install the adjustable pan bar. I'm asking because, Belle Tire in Warsaw, Indiana told me that I would need the alignment specs to better align the handling of the front-end & rear-end if, I'm putting a lowering kit on my Mustang. They definitely do a better job than the Ford or, Chevy dealerships done on my '09 Colorado and '07 Mustang. Belle Tire does a better job at a lower cost, as well. $75 for the alignment as compared to, $200 from the dealerships.

I installed Saleen's approx. 1" lowering springs & Koni yellows on my 2014, along with cc plates, an adjustable panhard bar, aftermarket rear control arms, and relocation brackets. Sure it handles better, but I couldn't get an alignment because now it won't clear the shop's rack, and I have to first drive up on boards for each tire to position above ground lift arms under it for servicing. People need to consider there are potential downsides even when properly lowering a car, and videos neglect to mention that.
@Massimo_Media Жыл бұрын
Videos don’t mention that because it’s assumed you’ll have to take extra measures to compensate for you modifying your car. Everyone I know has to lift their cars up on boards before servicing on ramps not designed for low cars, this is very common. Even factory sports cars can require this. My advice: find an alignment shop that works on sports cars often, they’re out there.

@@Massimo_Media I have heard there may be some alignment shops with recessed racks that will give the necessary clearance. However I have reset camber with a portable camber gauge and so far notice no unusual tire wear. I had previously lowered my fox Mustang and it clears alignment racks and lift arms without any problems, so had no reason to assume the 2014 would be different.

Good video! I got the whiteline lowering springs, koni orange struts and shocks, maximum motorsports caster camber plates, steeda upper control arm, whiteline lower control arms & brackets, whiteline panhard bar & brace, and whiteline sway bars. I put the pilot sport 4s tires on last year. Do you plan on changing out the front control arms or are the caster camber plates good enough for the front end?
@Massimo_Media2 жыл бұрын
Good stuff! I actually have Fortune Auto coilovers on the car now, so I don’t have caster camber plates unfortunately. I do have camber adjustment, but no caster adjustment. No plans to swap FCAs at the moment. I haven’t heard too many S197 road course guys swapping them out either. Would there be any advantages to aftermarket FCAs?
@5.0beers702 жыл бұрын
@@Massimo_Media Not sure, I changed most of the suspension parts out so that was the only part that I thought of next.

Surprisingly, on the west coast, the prices on these 13/14 GTs really have not gone up. They're still very fair and current prices are similar to pre-pandemic prices, at least in AZ.

I want to lower my 14 GT but I need a bit more clarification. I currently purchased koni str.t’s shock and strut kit, I have lowering springs and a non-adjustable panhard bar but I wanted to ask if I do need new rear control arms and relocation mounts at the same time as I lower my car or not. Also do I need the camber plate right away or could that wait as well. Just trying to get ahead before I miss something later on thank you. Your video really inspired me to lower my car as well thanks so much.
@Massimo_Media Жыл бұрын
You’ll want to do an adjustable panhard bar pretty soon. Relocation brackets for the rear LCAs aren’t required right now, but you’ll want those soon too to correct the suspension geometry after lowering the car. After lowering an S197, the rear LCAs are at an incorrect angle. The car will be much more stable with relo brackets and rear LCAs. Camber plate is up to you and what you’re doing with the car. You may be fine without it, but you’ll be at the mercy of whatever your camber is currently at.

Have you looked at the Kenny Brown rear grip kit? What do you think?
@Massimo_Media2 жыл бұрын
Looks like a good kit with proper parts! I don’t know much about this specific kit but usually these kits ask a premium because it’s everything in one kit. If you don’t mind doing some research, you can usually mix and match brands and pay less for higher quality products.

Thank you! This saved me some research, and time! I know it's only a 6, but I just picked up a 2013 MCA edition a couple weeks ago. I'm looking at lowering it, but I think that is going to wait until next summer. I have ordered BMR rear LCA'S for now. The extension brackets Ill wait to order til I lower the car. until I drop it, do u think adding the panhard bar will help me, or no? I'm trying to be as budget friendly as possible(doesn't mean I won't cheap out on quality), might just take a bit longer to achieve the end goal
