Were you stress testing a laptop? If so, that's just run of the mill, nothing special. Unless the laptop for some reason refused to thermal throttle back down to 80-90c, that is.

I hope he talks about them. I have a couple UPS systems for two of my builds. Typical rule of thumb is 1.5x your power supply wattage or your typical wattage consumption. However, given that so much of my peripherals are also hooked up to the UPS, I went for a typical 1500W UPS. That will handle 15 mins of power from a 650W system, which is ample time to shut everything down.

I stress test my PC by running the newest game i like on the highest settings and seeing how the system takes it. I adjust things to compensate like overclocks, undervolts, fan speed curves, all that jazz. If it runs good, it runs good. Simple.

I'd use Cinebench and Fur Mark at the same time. That way you're not only testing either CPU or GPU, but you're also testing your PSU and potentially even more parts (due to the added heat in the case).

i just use prime95 and furmark. They work well. Furmark like maxes the power load for the gpu out, so if its not what i need then i'll use kombustor

OCCT is very good it can put stress on any component on your pc, meanwhile checking for stability and error checking (my English no bueno) it's free, gets often updated, and it saved my pc, i was able to diagnose why it is not stable, if you want to know details i can tell you all about it

I test my gpu every time i play cyberpunk with ray tracing on. 98-100% utilisation and 61 c temperature is not too bad. It is a 3080 FE btw. But i will try the cinebench test too to see how it is.

I wouldnt use just cinebench since its only either cpu or gpu not both. When both cpu and gpu are stressed to 100% at the same time it will heat up your pc way more than just either one on their own

10 minutes wasn’t enough for me lol. -30 offset in pbo was stable in cinebench for multiple runs but crashed during a 1-2 hour game session. Toned it down to -25 and no issues since

10m is not enough time. Especially if using liquid cooling. 10m doesnt get liquid cooling to its fully soaked state, so thermals are not accurate. Memory often shows instability after 10 minutes, and Cinebench is not as memory intensive as other tests. OCCT woud be a better recommendation honestly, with good integrated monitoring. Sure, you need to learn more about setup of the software, but when diagnosing instability, it is much easier to diagnose where the instability is.

That’s ddr4 ram right? That should last a good amount of time. CPU and gpu would be ideal, because they are both out of date. I would say get on AM5, and get whatever mid-high end gpu would fit your needs

Cinebench is good to see the performace gain but as stress test is total garbage. Can pass it on my old OC 3770k while other test Like OCCT, Linpkack or Y-Cruncher fail very fast. The same happen when i test PBO on my 5900x. If u wanna test u stability with uv or oc just use OCCT or Prime95 with Small Fft. U should check event viewer to see if have u Whea errors too, hwinfo show it too.
