I used to use these when I first started playing darts because I didn’t know any better. Didn’t take long to realize that they get bent out of shape on the first bounce out as well as being useless after a Robin Hood. Gerwyn Price seems to like them though. 😂

I purchase my very first set of darts and they come with aluminum shafts but no O-rings. Immediately wondering why they keep coming loose no matter how much you tighten them. Found out about O rings later on. Also Robin Hoods damage them pretty bad. Nylon or polycarbonate was just the way to go prior to moulded. Moulded is now simply the best of the best.
@JimAnderson-wn8gs8 күн бұрын
I gave up alloystems 25 years ago when I bought my first set of Laserdart Moveable point Black Widows. Manufacturer states specifically to use nylon /plastic stems because the rear of the point hits the bottom of the stem. I have not transitioned to molded flught/stems combos yet as I am looking for the right length and flight shape. Though when my JMD 2.0s arrive I will be getting a set of Axe 120s for them
@WorldwideDarts8 күн бұрын
That's quite the upgrade going from Laserdarts to Yaoyeah provided the darts work well for you. I was never a fan of Laserdarts because of how much they marked them up. The same exact darts sold for $16 in the UK but well over $100 here in the states. It never made any sense considering they were the most basic darts.
@JimAnderson-wn8gs7 күн бұрын
@@WorldwideDarts, they were they highest tech darts I had ever seen when I bought them in the mid 90s. They were an upgrade from my Hammerheads. My Black widows have been my league darts for a long time now. They are just so comfy and drop right into my hand. I know where I am on the dart without looking. 😂 As for the Yaoyeahs being an upgrade, that remains to be seen. Though I am willing to experiment. Thanks for bringing these darts to my attention. I look forward to throwing them.

You don't HAVE to use a molded combo, use what works best for you. It's not a must.
@JimAnderson-wn8gs7 күн бұрын
@@ray_jay, I am going to experiment with my normal set up of intermediate stems and slim flights but I don't believe they will stabilize the JMD 2.0s very well. I am interested in the Axe 120s due to the lack of one fin. Less to deflect off of when the throwing gets tight. 😊
@JimAnderson-wn8gs3 күн бұрын
Got my Yaoyeah order yesterday. Initial impressions are very good. The JMD 2.0s are nicely grippy, fly well with some intermediate nylon stems and standard flights. Love how thin they are and that I have so much barrel to hold on to. With just a few throws, I stuck one in the corner of the treble 20 and had ACRES of red left to muss with the other two. 😂 Gonna need some more aggressive points as I did have a couple of hangers that slipped out. The Dual Tungsten set beautifully machined and have an excellent grip. Very easy to find a comfortable grip grip point. Fly very well with a KFlex medium installed. Thank you, WWD, for the work you do and showing me these magnificent darts.

They have their place and if you like them then keep on using them, the new fashion accessory is the all-in-one moulded stem and flights system, until something else takes over. Most of the pros are still using standard stems and folding flights, so it says something.
@WorldwideDarts8 күн бұрын
I just had a quick check and 13 pro players out of the top 32 are using moulded flights. Recently Aspinall and Adrian Lewis made the switch to K Flex. You're correct that the majority of them use standard stems and folding flights but not for much longer.

Molded stems and flights aren’t worth the money imo. All it’s doing is making the sport more expensive. There’s nothing wrong with alloy stems or any other type of stem or standard flights. Molded stems and flights have been on cheap brass darts forever and no one gave them a second look. Now it’s the greatest thing ever cause the manufacturer says they are. It just a fad. I’ll stick with my alloy and other material stems and folding flights
@WorldwideDarts8 күн бұрын
One set costs about $8. Combine that with specialty points and they should last over a year. That's cheaper than replacing folding flights every few days. The moulded flights have come a long ways since the old bar darts to be fair. All depends on how ta look at things. Dart players are a stubborn bunch though. There are players still using movable points
