How to Purge and Refill Your Zippo Butane Lighter Insert

This was super helpful, thank you! Much better than the instruction booklet in the box! A link to this video on a little card in the box would be much more helpful. I read the card and thought, 'cool, how hard can this be, gas goes in hole on box, let's try'. Then I sprayed butane all over my garage because I didn't purge it first lol. Thank you Zippo man, I'm going to try the purge and give it another shot!

My butane insert stopped working like 5 month ago and i never used it again. All I had to do was align that silly little cable.

I have the yellowflame and the flame is like 3 inches tall lmao, but I don't use it that often so it's fine as long as I am the one using it so people won't burn their eyebrows off

are you using stove butane or lighter butane? usually that happens with stove butane. it's less pure and not as filtered. lighter butane is filtered more so it's more pure and burns cleaner giving you the smaller blue flame I believe stove butane is like 70% pure while lighter butane is 99% I use the cheap stuff for refilling bbq grill lighters 😂

Because the ink might clogged the hole. U can use a pen with no ink though.

You don't shake it because it mixes the butane with the propellant? LMAO I stopped watching there. Should you ever realize that the propellant in butane is butane, you may have an idea why people laugh at you. And by the way, the tanks aren't full of air. it's butane gas, and what you want is liquid butane. You don't need to be a chemical engineer or have an intimate understanding of Boyle's Law to do a proper presentation here. Zippo is a great company with a rich history. Video instructions should be better than this
