It's not hard to reset your breathing!
If you have caught yourself holding your breath while under stress you will probably find this video useful. Breath-holding is a natural reaction to many stimuli, including pain, improve concentration, fear, increase abdominal pressure. So while it can be a disruption of our regular breathing cycle: inhalation, hold, exhalation, hold (and thus correctly it is some times classified as a sign of poor respiratory function); life is full of disruptions and to some of them holding once breath is absolutely fine.
On top of that breath-hold can be a fantastic reset of our breathing pattern! In this video, I am describing "How to use breath-holds to quickly reset your breath at work".

• Seat down or lay flat on your back - Close your eyes and slow your breathing for 1 min - Take a big breath in, hold your breath and press button in the timer of your phone - During the hold stay relaxed. Most likely at some point, you will experience some diaphragmatic contractions or chokes in your through. Try to suppress them.
