I actually started doing this using rubber. It's so much better and the foot pain is going away. I've been installing on the bottom of the insoles. I added a metatarsal pad also. Do you feel the felt would be better than the rubber?

Are you still using the same adhesive aetna roll? Many negative reviews past 2 years no longer like they used ro make it. Thank you for sharing all the good info 😊

Hi, this is a great video. I have been waring arch supports for over 50 years, every thing from hard leather to stainless steel with a leather cover. But I had two pr. of red plastic ones made in Baltimore Md. about 30 years ago and they were the best out of probably eight to ten different ones. I can’t remember who the Dr. was it’s been so long ago. My question is, one pr. Has broken, cracked in half, and I was wondering if you new of some type of liquid or other to use to make a mold to make another pr? I owned a Hardware store for 50 years so I can make anything if I have the right materials to work with. Thanks for your help. Bill

Bill: Your insight is very accurate. When I make my video series on custom orthotics your question will be answered. It isn't that simple. Stay tuned.

Thanks so much for this. Here I was trying to work out how to 3D print custom insoles. Turns out I just need some felt. Made these yesterday and they've transformed the new boots I bought from unwearable to comfortable. Thanks!
@frugalfoot49732 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. 3D printed inserts would be so convenient... the problem is the calibration that is needed for proper rigidity/flexibility.

This is great, I want to try it. Just one question. Does the felt material crush down when you stand on it or does it maintain the support and lift for the arch? Would molefoam also work? Thanks, Dr. Dave.
@frugalfoot4973 Жыл бұрын
It will crush down but you can always build it up to compensate. If mole foam is the same as mole skin then I would say you'll have to use quite a bit of the product to get the same effect. Thanks for your comment.

I don't really like this much. I tested layer by layer, and when I actually started feeling it on my arch, it kind of just felt like a rock in my shoe. Just didn't feel very natural. Although, I do get used to it at work and by the end of the day feels ok. I have felt some harsh stretches in my arch which I never do, which doesn't make much sense to me. I did find that the adhesive felt is quite nice to 'shingle' the inside of your shoe around steel toe. They also serve a great purpose of snugging up the boot/shoe which will increase comfort.

Superb video! What should I type exactly to find quarter inch adhesive felt I tried that in eBay but I didn’t get this product or anything similar, just pads or refrigerator felt which was a different size I’m in the UK do you have any way you can recommend I can get it from and what I might try and search for Thank you so much for the video
@frugalfoot49735 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind comment. I have no idea where you will find it in the UK. But I did leave a link to the U.S. Amazon link below the video. Try to copy and paste the title of the product into a Google engine and see if there are any stores in your area where you can get it. Otherwise ask your pharmacist or local apothecary if they can order you some. They are easily available in medical supply catalogs. Perhaps even a medical supply store that sells braces or fracture boots. All the best.

So, what you do on one foot, you have to do on the other as well, or else it will mess up you equilibrium.

On the other hand it might actually bring both feet into "equilibrium". Or at least closer to it.
