When it comes to reading people, I’ve always relied on my gut for things. People’s mood, body language, expressions, tone and eye contact all come into play. The gut itself has never let me down yet, tends to be right about them in the long run. Even when writing or texting, tends to show how much effort one might do or don’t. Thanks for the video! Then to look at yourself in the mirror in a sense mirroring those emotions till you memorize what they look like in the face and in how the body reacts and feels along with that emotion. Then try practicing identifying those emotions on others. Slowly you should be able to read how they are feeling. Probably not able to interpret it immediately. But it’s a start.

As an empath and an hsp that is pretty good at reading people I can say it's quite accurate, but I wonder if you can learn how to read people as good as if you were gifted. I mean, I always thought that empathy can't be developed on a level that empaths have it. Because I think I use these tips when I'm trying to read someone but I do that unconsciously. For example, I don't think "mhm, she's smiling, what does it mean? is she happy? is it a generous smile? etc", I just feel that she's nervous now. And if you ask me why I think so, I'd probably answer that I noticed how she didn't move her body, just standed still showing tension. But at the exact moment I don't think about all of these but feel it. And I really don't know if it's a type of thing that can be developed. I might be wrong, by the way, don't take my words too seriously! Thanks for reading and sorry for possible mistakes, because English isn't my native language. Have a nice day! 💕

I feel bad because people find it difficult to "read" me. I have a resting b face. And, most of the time, when not around my friends (such as in class), I normally am not focusing on anything around me. I use as much energy as needed. So I usually have bad posture and have no real face expression (especially with masks nowadays). I'll just be doing homework or taking notes. I feel bad because I have apparently intimidated a lot of people because I lack any emotion. I remember a teacher of mine, who knew I was really good at math, had a kid sit next to me. She explained how to do the work, but told him to ask me if he was confused. With most people, this kid would talk non-stop and would be loud as hell. He asked me one question, I explained how to do the problem, then I went back to work. He nervously made a bit of small talk, and I made a small comment (I was focusing on work and my brain was still in the "use as little energy as possible and only use as necessary" mode). He very quickly stopped talking. In any other circumstance, I would have most likely talked with him about whatever. I love talking to people, even if I didn't fully understand the topic (more to talk about, if you ask me) but in class, I just go on auto-pilot and people don't know what tips me off or how to make conversation with me. (And I yelled at a kid for being annoying. He deserved it, absolutely (he disrupted class every single day and would make awful noises while we worked.) I normally would have just zoned out but that day, I was suffering from a massive migraine (I may have actually cought a sickness and didn't realize until later, if I am remembering correctly) and didn't want to deal with his crap. I yelled at him to shut the hell up. The whole class went silent, and for the rest of the day, if any of these classmates were in my other classes, they were particularly quiet, along with those around them. Like I said, I feel really bad because not only do they not know how to make me talk, they don't know what will make me angry either.) It really sucks because when I am with my friends, I am pretty loud and act like a little kid occasionally. I can talk all day if you wanted me to. I rarely get angry (outside of my family) and I try to be as friendly as possible when I talk to people. With friends, I am the complete opposite than when I am at school. Just, school drains a lot out of me so I try my best not to use energy when I can and so I look very... Resting b face. It sucks but at least I can get my work done in mostly peace lol.

I can read people like a book. I can tell how your feeling just based on how you talk,act,and even based on your eyes. Let me explain. I can tell if someone is sad just by how their eyes are. I don't know why but when someone is sad their eyes seem dimmer. I've picked up on these signs from some stuff from my past. I could tell what someone was feeling without them even show it. I sometimes use this when I notice something off about a person. For example one girl was always causing drama and me and her never got along. After about 3 weeks I could tell she didn't have a good home life. I was right. She moved about a month ago. I'm guessing she got taken away. I hope she's doing okay. We may have not liked each other but I still want her to be safe. I've been in her place and it sucks.

I love trying to figure out people through their body language in new places. I also mix in some basic psychoanalysis and jokes. All of a sudden an introvert made some new friends! Be prepared when you get good at this. People will emotionally vomit all their life on you sometimes. I think a lot of us rarely get noticed for who we want to be seen as?
@RobbieManic Жыл бұрын
I am awful at reading body language and people in general, but on multiple occasions I've had gut feelings and/or made a joke about someone to either the person in question or to a friend in a light-hearted manner but with dark humour, and it's turned out I predicted something awful about them (if you're from the UK, it's custom to joke with your mates calling them a "nonce" - and I have accidentally predicted someone being one on more than one occasion). I can somewhat read when not to trust someone or when they've done an awful thing/are a bad person, but I can't tell what they've done specifically. I've had incidents where I lost friends because I didn't trust someone, and eventually it's come out that my gut instinct to not like them and avoid them was right and my friends have confirmed it. It's like David's power from Unbreakable without being able to tell exactly what it is that they've done.

I feel kinda bad because someone complimented my smile this morning and said that it was actually how she recognized me from the day before because it was so bright and genuine but in all reality I've known about diffrent smiles (among other characteristics that define personality and maturity) and have been masking emotions so long that I immediately force a genuine looking fake smile when meeting someone new or if I need to appear more formal as this allows me to give off the illusion of maturity and age as someone my age (mid teens) would usually not be taken as seriously as someone in their mid to late 20s and upon revealing my true age people are visibly taken aback by the new revelation and many all of a sudden believe that I am inferior to them unlike prior to telling them my age when they actually looked to me with and for respect as they believed I was one of their peers thankfully there are a few with an open mind who actaully find the illusion very impressive and welcome me as an equal because of my mental maturity and not because of my true age. The reason why I do this is because I have experienced situations where acting my age or "behaving as I should" has negatively impacted many aspects of my life including but not limited to my mental and physical health. When I was 12-13 I was being medicated for depression but the doctor viewed me as a child and so ignored anything I said and instead based the prescriptions off of what my parents said (even though they saw very little of me as I would have school all day then immediately go home and continue my school work in my room until I finally went to bed) this in turn lead to me taking the highest dosage allowed, for someone my age at the time, of medicine that only ever increased my symptoms and after about a year of not being listened to I decided to take matters into my own hands and threaten to stop taking everything all together until he could get past the fact that I was a child and treat me as a real patient and until then it was obvious to me that he was not cut out to be a pediatric doctor as he is less mature than his own patients. He did not appreciate being called out and quit treating me on the spot and recently I discovered that not long after that he retired. Even though I am still being treated to this day for issues surrounding depression I still refuse to take any medications directly affecting my depression out of fear that I will be put through the same sort of treatment as before so I suppose you could say that in a way it was a scaring but also much needed experience as even though it may terrify me to try treatments again it has also taught me to not allow my age to be a restriction when it comes to well earned and deserved respect I just have to prove that I deserve it and earn it through assertion sometimes.

the ironic part is that when I stopped focusing on knowing how to read people because I felt, "this is wrong, and unnatural." --that I became significantly better at reading people through gut feeling alone. I still think it's wrong and unnatural, and that if I want to get a read on people I should just ask. The bright side? I usually only get negative gut feelings on folk if I know, they're not a good person. Really helped me separate the good from the bad and be left with an intimate and much more tight-knitted friend group. The folk who matter; the folk I'd like to keep around in the far future.

Can you also do a video on how to read someone intentions and mind through message,text or conversation skills?
@crownclowncreations3 жыл бұрын
I will admit, I kinda though everyone knew this. But I also know that I am a very strong empath (even too strong at times, as I will will forget about myself completely). But I also know that for an example, people with autism can have a hard time reading other people's emotions through facial expressions, body language and tone of voice. I have a younger sister with autism. She's 14 and she goes to a special school. But one day she asked me "What do I say when people ask me 'what do you think'"? I myself, have ADD and we both have anxiety, so I often understand her struggles more than the rest of the family. And things like this never occurred to me. Because in some cases, people will genuinely want your opinion. But in other cases they just want you to agree with them. To me it's easy to determine what they're asking of me, but when you have autism, you take everything at face value. So when people ask her what she thinks, she's gonna be honest. And sometimes that hurt her friends' feelings. So I tried to tell her how to look at their face, their body language and how they talk. Do they look happy? Do they look unsure? Idk if it would be worth it to make a video about something like this, but think it would be kinda cool. Why do we say one thing but mean something else?

You can't read anyone instantly. You can make a basic assessment based on preconceptions, though.

Actually you can. Unless you're a psychopath or narcissistic. In that case, you don't have the compassion or empathy to care

Re: posture. I am a sloucher. I always have been. I sit comfortably, whenever I can. Right now, I'm in my soft armchair, leaning back with my feet up. It's just a kind of informality and a preference for comfort. Women are pushed to be ornaments and to take up as little space as possible. Some of us resist that. We also get unwanted looks, starting in puberty, if we stand up straight or sit up straight. So we bend inward, to keep our bodies private. It has made me round-shouldered. But I think the benefits outweigh the costs. Whenever I have tried out a new habit of improving my posture, it brought me attention I didn't like.

Be objective and open-minded. ... Pay attention to appearance. ... Pay attention to people's posture. ... Watch their physical movements. ... Try to interpret facial expressions. ... Don't run away from small talk. ... Scan the person's overall behavior.

I already pay attention to these details honestly... but I try to keep an open mind and not take anything someone says too seriously for the first 4 months of knowing them... people tend to reveal their true colors within the first 4 months of meeting them..

i hope people remember that some people - like those with autism or social anxiety - sometimes don't have accurate representations through body language of what they're feeling. the amount of times people thought i liked them because i'm nervous and awkward is too annoying

Sometime I amazed how good they show they feeling, cause I can't do that. But people bad at lying cause I always caught them without they realized. And always asking the obvious question even you already know what the answer is. Don't act to smart around people, just act like you know nothing. At this point you can observe people around you more clearly and closer.

When you just want someone to look at you with a nice thought and not with a rude thought. I just want someone to say something different to me other that " When I first met you I thought you were rude" or " When I saw you, you look like you were someone who bullied people". It gets annoying and I know I have a rbf but it still hurts when someone says thos things

I have the ability to just feel emotions that other people are feeling it’s not always a good thing because I don’t get it true that most of the time I just look at someone and I know they’re having a bad day so I secretly wish them good luck and it doesn’t always help but it’s good to know I tried
