I did not realize that I was overloading on moisture until I used the "strength" product line from Curlsmith. I went from loose waves that never lasted beyond a day to literal curls for days. Cannot believe what a difference a bond treatment and protein made

So many channels in the past couple days have been posting about caring for hair in humidity, which is totally helpful but I for sure learned much more from your video! 👌

My curl creams and leave-ins are gathering dust on the shelf. Haven't used them in months. Same as my deep conditioner. I use 1 deep conditioner (Miche Beauty Strengthen) as a mask, 3 minutes max, then wash it out. But only if my hair feels really dry. Thanks for the video, it was really helpful!

Thanks for the advice. I think I’m around the 2A hair type…my waves are long S curls, and I’ve noticed the top area around my bangs is always frizzy. Can’t hold a curl at all. Pretty sure I’ve gone overboard with conditioning that area. Got some protein products, so hopefully those help.

But how do I know if a product contains protein? And what should you be looking for, like a shampoo that conteins protein or more like a gel that contains protein? ❤

When can I see results of using protein conditioner? Bc Im using it in every wash and my hair is still mucky and feels weak to hold my natural curl pattern
@hanzcurls8 ай бұрын
Conditioner is a product that softens the hair so if you are trying to combat overmoisturised hair with conditioner (even if it contains protein) this will not work. Think I mentioned this is the video 🧡

I am still confused. It seems as though the symptoms of protein overload, and moisture overload are the same. It seems as though I have tried everything. My hair is a wreck. It is curly, but it always looks frizzy and dry. Protein treatments do nothing for my hair. Deep conditioning does nothing for my hair. They don't make it better or worse. They don't change anything. I don't color, or use heat. I am so frustrated. Help!
@hanzcurls2 жыл бұрын
Yes a lot of the symptoms overlap unfortunately, but the main differences are if it needs PROTEIN it’s usually lacking hold and curl definition and feeling soft. If it needs MOISTURE it’s usually very dry and frizzy. It sounds like you may need a bit more moisture. Think of it as a balance between strength (protein) and softness (moisture). If your hair is dry and frizzy is likely needs softening and you can do that with deep conditioner as well as your leave in products. Have a watch of my how to tame frizzy hair video as there’s lots of tips there ☺️

It can also be impacted by hardwater. Sometimes a cleansing shampoo can be a game changer!

Can your hair still be frizzy if it’s over moisturized?
@hanzcurls2 жыл бұрын
Yes! A lot of symptoms cross over which can make it hard to figure out.
@felizmar2 жыл бұрын
@@hanzcurls yes, this is what I’m trying to figure out now lol but based on your video I’m leaning to it is probably over moisturized. 🤔
@hanzcurls2 жыл бұрын
@@felizmar no harm in pulling back on the moisture and adding a bit of protein in!
