Gotta be careful about that and make sure there are no leaks before you go lighting it. You gotta admit that it really gets your heart pumping and excites you a little when a big fireball erupts from the bottom of the lighter for about 1 and a half seconds till all the gas is burned up huh?!?! Soon as that's done with then you can promptly go and change your shorts cause there's a pretty good chance you Shat yourself when it happened. Happens to the best of us bud. Just be careful next time. Take care.

@enlightenedexceptionalism72064 жыл бұрын
Use the flat ones to seal better - I was going to try to add a bead of silicone or something on it's base when I reinsert it to make sure it stays in place, and with that - I think I can still pull it out again when I want to refill again. There are other videos on installing a refill valve - seems like a lot of work, but also seems worth it if that's the way you want to go.
@PetesShopMakes4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I’ve seen the other vids and as long as you were able to find a valve and had the proper tools I don’t think it would be too difficult and for as much as I use mine and given what I use them for, it’s just easier for me to use a thumbtack and refill them like I always do. Takes all of 10 seconds to do once you have a good system down.
@explodaeusextremicus95804 жыл бұрын
I love genius little tricks like this. Well wouldn't you know it, I didn't have a thumb tack anywhere, only the sharp end of a drawing compass, which wasn't at all good due to the taper and the entire apparatus sticking out the end. Instead I used a small screw from some scrap electronics and a bit of tape with a hole in it for the gasket. Loses a bit of butane at first, but if you put enough in at once it stays a liquid long enough to turn the screw in there and keep a good amount. The things you learn on the internet. Thank you.

Pulse I’m pretty sure those are check valves anyways. Meaning the gas can only flow in one direction but again, I can’t really say for certain because I never have done it. The Redstone Rebel if you hold your can of butane upright and you can somehow figure a way to get a tight seal around the fill valve of your broken lighter, all you have to do then is just push the lighter down on the valve on your can of butane and it will essentially empty the fluid from your broken lighter back into the can which then can be used to fill to good lighter, I’ve done this successfully with one of those long bbq lighters before.

I don't believe it would "blow OFF'" your hand, but rather make an exciting flame-throwing fireball. Kind of like when you take a can of hair spray or some other pressurized can containing propellant and you spray it through a lit flame. That's when you remove the pin completely at least I mean but it only lasts a second till all the gas is expelled. Doubt it would do that from a small leak. That's not to say that the flame couldn't go back up inside while lit and cause the lighter to explode but again, don't think that's enough to actually blow your hand "OFF". All that said, that's only my observation from past experiences and opinions of my own. You should still do this at your own risk and take the necessary precautions.

@@LilSakei Yeah I hear that from everyone when I tell them how much they cost here because people always tell me to just go buy a new one when they run out instead of having to refill them but it makes more sense for me to buy a can of butane for around the same price as a new light will cost and I can fill about 50 lighters with that one can and once you get the method down, it only takes about 30 seconds to refill one rather than go and spend 5 bucks every time it runs out of fuel. To each his own though so whatever works for you I guess.

DUDE, JUST BUY A CLIPPER. MUCH BETTER LIGHTER, AND EASIER TO REFILL.

Honestly...Im not a huge fan of them. To each his own I suppose.

Personally not a fan either. But Clippers are fine as long as you don’t require having it lit for very long. Having the flame lit for roughly over 30 seconds melts the plastic. However I do like the removable flint stem on some of them that you can use as a “cigarette” packing tool. Also the ability to refill is obviously a plus.

Why bother with all that nonsense, In UK you can buy disposable butane lighters at 50 for £5 !!

Unfortunately, thats about how much a single lighter costs here in the states and is the main reason for the video. Thanks for the input though. It is greatly appreciated. Cheers mate!
