How to Refurbish your Maintenance Cart for the EPSON PRO 3800 3880

Now that you know how to reset the PRO 3800 / 3880 Maintenance Cart, I will show you how to refurbish it.
It is a very simple but potentially dirty process but if you are careful you should come out with perfectly clean hands like I did in the video.

Hello Jose, I have a 3880 and print one or two pictures once every 10 days. Can I leave the printer on all the time to save ink? I guess if I switch the printer on and off after each use, it wastes more ink! Thanks, friend.

Hi Tell me how does it know it’s full ? By weight? If so why not change the wadding every so often so it never fills up ? Do you think this will work?

No. It's by the chip. It estimates how much ink is sucked out of the printhead and guesses how much ink was dumped into the maintenance tank. That is then written into the chip. So your idea will not work. You can not fool the chip.

Nope. At least no one has come up with a way to reuse them so far. They also have a chip that would have to be replaced.

You take the resetter and line up the resetter's pins to the chip. This was about refurbishing the cart.

You mean the repacking? You can use anything that will absorb water based liquid.

Thanks, @@cheo1949I ordered a new maintenance cart, but will probably have to wait for it for a few weeks to get here. I'm hoping that putting new absorbent cotton will work in the meantime.

Sure you can do that but the chip STILL needs to be reset. there is a process to do this even if you have to resets you cannot just reset the chip and pop it back in and expect it to be recognized. You need to put a second maintenance cartridge with a different chip so the printer is fooled as it sees a different chip code. It will record that code and then erase the previous code which is the one you just reset then you just swap them again and the printer will accept the reset repacked maintenance cart so not only do you need a second maintenance cart at this point in order to get the system to work the second maintenance cart could be a used one it doesn't really matter you just need to record a different ID code into the printer's memory so that it forgets the original one and that way will accept the one you just reset. It is a tricky process and they don't tell you how to do this when you buy the resetter. That why I am here.
