Just sharing in case others with slanted front versions find it doesn’t work for them either. Has anyone tried a database rebuild? I’m guessing that would delete all data?

I KNOW THIS IS AN OLDER VIDEO BUT , my ps4 has been literally not letting me play any applications / games. Only the disk that was in it , and so i tried rebuilding the database , factory resetting, EVERYTHING. Then the disk wouldn’t even work! And this literally fixed it i cannot thank you enough i was getting so frustrated. Literally was ab to throw away the whole ps4.

For those of you that don't want to update this method works but download your matching firmware that you are trying to stay on, instead choose "Update from USB Storage Device" 2:56 This will fix that annoying message "Update the system software to use network features" every time you open a game. tested on 6.72

Yep, I've had nothing but problems since update 7.02. PlayStation worked perfectly till it update to 7.02. Nothing but errors since. Got it to work for awhile by rebuilding the database. But now it just shuts off after being on for a couple minutes. I'm doing an initialize now. Hopefully it can fix the problem

I watched other videos like this one and it's frustrating as hell. It makes me want to punch my PS4 or Sony for making stupid problems, even though I'm a very nice guy, but things like this absolutely worse for me. So I went with option 6 and everything is fine, but I have to redownload my games and account again. I gotta say this is one of the worst situations I've ever experienced in my gaming life. Thanks for the help, mate! If this happened again next time, then I would be more careful and learn my lesson not to mess it up again. To those PS gamers who still have struggled. If everything is not working, then I advise you to go with option 6. Everything will be okay, my friends!

Same. I've downloaded the update and installed it over twice now. It restarts and then just brings me back to safe mode and says to put in a USB for the latest update file. What the fuck? I am at a loss. So frustrating. I'm pissed.
