You are the best! Actually the only way to keep learning new words is just practicing. For example, I am pretty advance english student and now every time that I find a new word in english, I just need to repeat it and maybe say a short sentence that includes this word and in an unconsciously I learn it. And I remember the word again within a couple of hours later and then I just keep that word in my mind. But Now I can do that because I have practiced it.

Acabo de descubrir este canal hace una semana y me encanta, hay mucho que aprender si pierdo el miedo a practicar.

I learn words mainly by talking to myself (thinking aloud) in the target language and trying to include the new words when I do. (I'm adapting a technique from Olly Richards, who said he keeps a list of new words in front of him that he tries to use with a tutor during conversation practice, and he asks the tutor to use those words, too.) If I need extra help, I'll also memorize the word--sometimes with software (Quizlet or Anki), sometimes with board games I create for myself with pen and paper. With long words (in Russian or Indonesian), I memorize the word root first, then the whole word.

I remember words by reading, hearing, speaking, and writing them.

I think for me it just comes with exposure and time.. forced memorization can aid to jump start this.. but yeah for me personally I enjoy extensive learning, I feel I get the most bang for my buck when I explore a wide range of content in any given language.
