Thanks for the video! I'm replacing the timing chain on my 2006 Charger R/T Daytona and was hoping someone had posted a video of this procedure. I assume yours is a Daytona as well since it's yellow. Mine is #251

I recommend going with a Melling high volume oil pump while you are in there.
@markwood1986 Жыл бұрын
@@fyireviewsandhowtos3118 I had all of my parts in hand prior to starting. I did order a Melling, just not the high volume pump. I have never had any issues with oil pressure. It was just way past time for a timing chain (266,000 miles!).

Hello, I love your videos...I am from Iraq. I want to ask you about the fuel pump pressure of the Charger how many bars....Charger 3.6V....Model 2020

Your pickup tube is broken, the end of the tube should be damn near impossible to move even with a prybar, as it is bolted down to one of the main caps with a stud and a nut. Yours has a broken mount or the nut came off. That pickup tube should basically sit steady and solid even when not attached to the oil pump.

I do believe that on later years of all hemis there is a bracket on the oil pick up tube that will require you to remove the oil pan.

Do the water pump have to be removed
@fyireviewsandhowtos31182 жыл бұрын
Yes the whole front playe has to be removed.
@fyireviewsandhowtos31182 жыл бұрын
There are just a few bolts that go through the water pump and timing chain cover into the engine block. You can remove those bolts and leave the water pump mounted to the timing chain cover. I can’t explain to you in this reply which bolts they are but I actually left the water pump on this timing chain cover when I removed it and I will be posting that video shortly.

The only bolts that are holding the oil pump on on a 2006 5.7 Hemi is the four bolts on the front of the pump and the one that is securing the oil pick up tube to the pump. Once the pick up tube and bolts are removed the pump should turn freely and slide off the lower timing gear as you see in the video.

This procedure works on the passenger vehicles. On RAM trucks and Durangos the pickup tube has another bolt securing it to the engine and the oil pump will not rotate. On my 05 Durango, I lowered the 4x4 differential and was able to drop the oil pan about 5".

I just wanna know how to replace my pump by taking off pan
@fyireviewsandhowtos3118 Жыл бұрын
This oil pump is turned by the crank and is mounted on the crank. To my knowledge there is no way to remove the pump by just dropping the oil pan.
@fyireviewsandhowtos3118 Жыл бұрын
If you need to take the oil pan off you need to do everything in this video plus take the pan off. Here is a link to my other video showing how I took the oil pan off right after reinstalling the timing chain. kzbin.info/www/bejne/faPSZYKVhbp0ick&si=ovZSYzw0LeMfygao
