For 1st time folks. Mark hoses with painters tape, number them and write where they go in a notebook. That way on the way back to install them you dont miss a single one, mark them off the list and remove the tape (that way if you see tape, you missed it) Group bolts on zip lock bags and write where they go. Mark direction of parts that same way. Great video wish it was out 7 months ago when I pulled my engine out. 😂

@goatbaaad3711 Жыл бұрын
Just an FYI for anyone doing this, don’t remove the pitch stop. The pitch stop isn’t holding the engine, it’s holding the transmission and has up and down movement so it will not brake. You will have no problem getting the engine out with it in and then you’re not leaving your transmission sitting on 2 shafts and 1 mount.

I love how you say “don’t need to lift the car to pull the engine, remove intake, intercooler, battery, alternator” then removes in reverse order and immediately lifts the car 🤣 love it! I definitely appreciate you breaking it down in a quick tutorial, not overly in depth, not full of filler

everyone i talk to say they hate working on subaru motors because they are the hardest motors to work on and that always baffles me, ive never come across a motor more easily worked on!, everything is up top or in the front to get access to. Two questions for you as I am prepping to replace a clutch in my 18' STI (never let you girl drive your STI when the last standard she drove was years ago and was a 90s civic....) any way. 1. do you have to remove the intake manifold to pull the engine, or will the engine come out with the intake still bolted on with all the appropriate connections and hoses removed? 2. I am assuming that with removing the turbo, down pipe, headers and intake etc... that I'll need to replace all the gaskets to these parts as well, correct? Thanks for the awesome video @Smeedia, always look forward to your new videos!
