I used to clean a school and in the bathrooms after I removed all stains and build-up, I used automotive car wax on all surfaces. It made them resistant to calcium build-up in the future, aslo it was easier to wipe down.

My wife has been cleaning homes for over 30 years and this is something that she has always done, the two things that is different between what is on the video and how my wife does it, is that she ,first, with a brush, brushes with vinegar, everything, gives it a good brushing with vinegar and uses, good paper towels soaked in vinegar and presses this towel, tightly around the faucet, she leaves it alone and let the vinegar do it's job. Comes out like new, each and every time.

Wow, that's some great advice. I have stainless steel sinks and we had this white stuff that wouldn't come off with even lots of elbow grease. Luckily vinegar soaking did the trick! Our water is so hard you could break something if you sat in a tub of it. Not really but you get the picture how hard some water can be in some places. Due to health concerns about using potassium or sodium to soften our water, we can't use those methods, so we suffer with the hard water. Thanks again for this advice!

I live in a place that has really hard water too. Buildup takes hardly any time. So I've learned to completely avoid the mess that envolves too much scrubbing. I just wipe the faucet with towel very quickly after each use of faucet..got to keep it dry of that Hard water. Once in a while, I'll spray it with vinegar (from my own Boughton spray bottle), leave it on faucet few minutes, then polish it up. Believe me, faucet keeps looking new.

A cup of vinegar is great for removing hard water stains from the dishwasher, dishes and silverware I simply fill a cup or glass with vinegar and leave it upright in the 'washer. The wash spray fills the cup and the overflow of the water mixes and meters the vinegar out throughout the wash/rinse cycles. It seems to work well.

Remove the faucet handles. That will make it a lot easier to access the base of the faucet where most of the deposits are. (In this case you'd need an Allen wrench. Others might be a Phillips screwdriver.) You can soak the handles while you're working on the base.

@@TheCleanLoft: This is good effective information and it works well but you might mention there are other acids that are somewhat quicker than acetic acid (vinegar), although sometimes 10x as expensive. Many hard water removal products are available that use lactic acid (from milk) and gluconic acid (from honey and fruits), especially for those who don’t like the smell of vinegar as a cleaning agent (me). The best known in North America is the brand name CLR. In any case the best solution in the end is to install a water softener and eliminate the issue altogether! Good channel, carry on!…we all hate grungy kitchens, lol.

Dear, Pls make a video on how to use less water while doing this kind of cleaning. Water s a scarce resource and we all must help in conservation of this resource.

I understand your point of view. In order to conserve water when doing this job, you fill your bucket with water and when rinsing you then use a small towel to rinse or a small cup to scoop the water.
