Seeing you actually go step by step with your process is very rare, and very helpful. i have a small spot like this on my monitor that i was planning on attempting to repair, but seeing you take your monitor apart was nerve wracking and my monitor was too expensive for me to want to tinker with so i’ve decided that im going to leave it lol

That was surprisingly compelling. I've never had that issue but I had no idea what the inside of a monitor looked like. Like an episode of How It's Made!

HI Gerald, you should use what is called 'dark field imaging' in order to locate uneven and light-scattering features. Just shine a light on it from a very shallow angle, or rather a large angle relative to the normal incidence, but the flash lamp like on the table radiating horizontally along the surface. Also, instead of keep wiping dust particles away, just use an air blower. Wearing gloves is also a good idea, because every little fatty residue will change the light scattering, just like smudges from your skin's fat on a phone. You could introduce more uneven lighting by it. Oh and congratulations on fixing it, feels good to repair something in the day and age where most people just know how to 'consume' something new instead of even trying! You're not crazy, I'd do the even nerdier videos, so no worries there mate :P

I got an LG GP850-B last month and noticed 2 small bright dots at the bottom of the screen today. I believe I have this exact issue on my monitor. I'm going to contact warranty and if they deny I will live with the issue till the warranty is expired in 11 months then take it to a repair shop and have them fix it. Thanks for the video.

This can also be tiny plastic diffusers on top of the led backlights falling off (usually heat / humidity causes the glue to weaken over time and they drop off). Pull of that last diffuser panel and you may find several lying around if this methos doesnt get rid of the spot. Gluing these back on should solve the issue

I recently had one of these bright spots appear on my phone's screen and it was definitely not there before, I have a habit of using the phones built in timer and it uses a white background (samsung clock app). I made the purchased of a BenQ BL2423PT a few months ago, when using my browser I noticed a circular bright spot on the left most side of the screen, I took the monitor out of the stand and applied so light pressure to even out the screen and used some compressed air to clean the inside area. This got rid if the spot and it has keep working with no bright spots for a couple of months and I hope it to remain like that until the time to get a new monitor come.

I took a TV apart and replaced a few of the leds. I used super glue to glue the lenses back on and some of them fell off. I had a beautiful picture except I had 6 evenly spaces out white spots lol. Anyway took it back apart found a glue that would hold them on properly but now I have a bunch of white spots but not as bright or evenly spaces like it's the leds and the pictures seems super bright so bright I have to turn the brightness down even further then usually and lite screens look weird like white is more of a silver look. I'm wondering it the screen is ruined or could it be the display or just the reflectors

It easy get rid it with laptop screen all your need to duo is rub some pressure on back side of panel but need remove the screen first. Don't use too mush pressure or you crack LCD layer of screen. Note this will cause more IPS glow that may last more then 24 hours.

I have an BENQ with similar problems, mine almost have half of a Nike-ish logo pressure "thing" that looks like is made in relief. Funny thing is I used this monitor from 2013 until now ( 2020 ) and it developed this issue only now. I don't understand if I applied too much pressure clean it, it it was something done to when it was manufactured... I am so curios how this happened and why after so many years... Is your monitor okay after 2 years since you fix it?

If you are trying to basically sand down a ridge on the diffusion panel I would suggest you invest in some sheets of "micro mesh" from one of their finishing kits. It is a special sand paper that goes to a 12,000 grit level where you can actually get a mirror polish on things like plastic. I've used it to refinish plastic lenses on old watches and if you want to get a truly smooth surface there is nothing better for plastics.

Interesting, gret stuff. 👌 I only have one monitor so I am not gonna try this, but mine is 7 years old I think it's Benq too, it's Benq Gw2260 hm but it has a cloudy look to the panel now, it's whole panel, I see cloudy all over it. I am not sure what is doing it, mabye just wear on those sheets. So it lasted years before this problem started in 2020 and got worse. If same thing could be done to mine that sure would take a lot of work.

With or without rma if you buy from benq itself not from 3rd party shop, you can service it cost around 20 - 40 (meybe more).

Seems like you could have just left that diffuser panel out. Anyway what can we do about small impact damage spots of the surface of the screen? Seems like the active element on BenQ monitors is directly on the surface, any damage there appears as white spots on dark backgrounds and black spots on white.
