You can see this has already been repaired before, WHY simple the stub they put in is to small no support allows flex, they did not cut a bevel on the second face so no penetration, they did not preheat the welding area to stop the large body of the axle drawing away all the heat so essentially a cold weld with poor to minimal penetration. On the axle side might as well have used super glue.

Wow at this point just use crazy glue.

Looks like the other end has been repaired before too. So two snapped points on the same axle.....super dodgey!!!

Both ends of this axle have been previously repaired yet they're repairing it again. Sorry guys but it's still not going to hold.

@from the dark side of the moon This is a lazy axle or in laymen terms a fixed axle it does not spin, the only issue it the wheel will toe in or toe out or not be vertical.

That wobble after the repair is a feature ?

I totally agree. The truck will be dancing on the road :)

They weld them on bent down so when the truck is massively overloaded it runs straight 😜

It's about time to get a new axel, 3rd repairs at the same location are not good. Cost effectiveness is out the door with this repair. If he wants it to last the driver has got to change his load size.😢

At 13:00 Right at that time you can see where the end of the shaft is wobbling up and down it might be off by an eighth of an inch but still that is not going to provide you a steady ride you will have uneven wear on the tires and not 100% in control of the vehicle or truck that that is going on that’s not a good job he did sorry to say that but it’s the truth you can put a lot of people in danger.
@keithammleter38242 жыл бұрын
Very true. But at least he did a perfectly sound weld. There us another video taken at another shop where not only was the stub off axis, the weld was of very poor quality - likely to break off again.

What a bad job. Incredible the dirt of the place. The men work squatting or sitting on the floor, wearing filthy clothes and wristwatch. Mechanics repair engines and equipment by throwing the parts on the dirty floor, there's garbage everywhere, and some bums sit around doing nothing ... Mechanics don't wear protective gear. Impressive the dirtiness of the place. And mechanics work smoking or talking on cell phones. Also, operating a lathe using long-sleeved shirts is extremely dangerous.
