Replacing this fixed my AF that stopped working! For all others who want to do this repair, work slowly, and make sure you align the aperture lever properly - you’ll need to use a flashlight. I didn’t align it properly and the lens was VERY dark, so I had to take it apart again.

Hi, I am new to this and had to repair this lens (succesfully). How do I know if the apperture is aligned? How do I fix it if not? Thank you in advance.

Hi very interesting video! Could I ask what was exactly the problem of the AF? Mine 70-300 simply stopped working without giving any signal of any kind of problem. Manual focusing is totally fine and there is no strange sound or difficolty in turning the focusing. It simply looks like the AF doesn't respond. The VC is totally fine... It's so strange that this has happened out of the blue...I'm a maniac with my lens and bodies...never dropped or scratched anyone of them in any way... Obviously I'm JUST out of the 5 years worrenty...like a month out... Anyway...if your Tamron had the same problem can you help me to find the replacement part you used? Tamron asked around 200€ as a standard reparing price for the lens(including shipping and other stuff) the lens it's 280€ new on amazon, but I'm not one that let these things go... if it can be fixed I'm going to fix it.

@@DIGISERVICEBG is it possible, in your experience, the it might be a problem of a connector that, due to 5 years of work, it no more properly connected? I think that as a first try I could take apart the lens, check that everything is correctly connected and then assembling everithing so that when I'm sure that the problem is the AF motor I will be more prepared!

@@LiuteriaMarcellan Never be 100% sure :) Just check every connector and flex , but in my experience - if stop USD , need repalacement :)

hi, I get to the point where you undo the screw at 3:38. the screw doesn't line up with the hole (I'm assuming it's because the zoom gets stuck halfway). any ideas?

Hi this is the screw which holds the outer barrel and zoom lever .

Hi! I wonder, how to set the program "brush" contacts correctly (9:48)? There's no marks. By testing I get once the "knock" on the closest focus, another time - on the furthest. It happens in very certain situations when it's already close to the limit and tries to overcome it focusing again. Can't find the correct position. And what does the sensor on 8:16? Can't get how it works

Hi, there is a problem with the GMR sensor. Better send it to us. IF you want send email to service@digi-service.eu and we will provide more information. Thank you!

I have one for a Canon and it's in mint condition but completely dead electronically.. No AF no VC no aperture Manual and zoom only but the camera doesn't read it so it will not produce any images on my 5D Mark II. What causes this and can it be repaired by Tamron or someone like yourself?

Hello, let's see if you can help me, disassemble the first housing to change the two switches (AF and VC), do not disassemble anything else, no connector or flex, once the two switches have been changed, the autofocus moves from end to end and does not focus, according to your experience that has been possible, thank you very much.

I have a Tamron 18-300 mm standard my auto focus is not working, i took it to the beach and i believe i got sand in my lens... any suggestions? i don't have $400+ to spend to fix it because at that price might as well get a new lens
@DIGISERVICEBG4 жыл бұрын
Hi, the estimation will be way below 400$ :) Try to open and clean the sand inside. If not, send it to us :)

I don't like this video, there should be narration or onscreen text explaining important details. No explanation of why that part has to be replaced or what it specifically is. No explanation of what is happening exactly with all this painstaking fiddling around this point, 11:20. I can make assumption, hypothesis as to what is taking place but for something like this having to do that is not good, we should have some guidance on what to ensure is correct here. I'm someone who can typically fix anything I get my hands on but that usually means I have a foundation of understanding of what function everything has. This doesn't give any of that foundation or any explanation of what you're doing at each step. An ape can imitate the process of disassembly and assembly but knowing what you're doing at each step is critical to success of the repair.

Thank you for the time . Nothing in this world is free . This video is not for teaching , just to guide and give some information. If you want to do good for yourself, better bring the lens to the professional 😉
