Thanks for the info. I just did the radiator in my 06 Daytona with a 130,000 on the clock. No signs of water pump leaking yet.. Decent that it's an o ring and you do t need sealer...

My son has an 06 RT and just replaced an Asian pump after 1-2 years leaked. Now has a Mopar pump installed $360 w/discount. Belt is squeeking and he wants to know best way to stop it. Assume it's from coolant residue. Help?

very helpful! Im going to replace my water pump this week. 15 years old and its lasted pretty long, but the bearing seal finally blew. Going to be my first attempt at getting under the hood of this car; im glad there's so much space to maneuver.

Glad I seen this ! If you come to discover that the water pump is not the problem, what could cause the leak.? I have same year make model. I’m leaky a lot of antifreeze

Did you ever discover where the leak was? I’m experiencing the same problem. Antifreeze starts spurting out but I can’t see where. Thanks 🙏

I like it a lot . I wish you could have shown a bit more on the heater line with the o-ring . How did you remove it .! Great video. Thx u

Remove the bolt that secures the metal tube to the top of the timing chain cover then pull up on the tube to remove it from the water pump. If it is stuck you can use a flat head screwdriver to carefully pry up on the tube. The tube has an O ring on it that may need to be replace if it is in bad shape.

How did you bleed the line after installing the water pump I’m about to do mine same year same model
@fyireviewsandhowtos31182 жыл бұрын
No need to bleed the system. There is a large plug on the pump that you need a Allen wrench to take out. Once you take the plug out just fill the coolant Reservoir until you see coolant coming out of the plug hole. Replace the plug then top off the coolant. It is best to have a funnel that locks onto the reservoir opening where you cap goes. With the funnel in place start your car and turn the heater on. Keep the coolant full as the car warms up. If the car has run long enough for the thermostat to open but the fans are not kicking on, this means you have an air bubble in the system. At this point shut the car off and elevate the front end with a jack or ramps. This should eliminate the bubble. Removing the plug is suppose to stop an air bubble from forming but I have seen them still get air trapped in the system. Just remember if the car forms a bubble it will go to the water pump and prevent it from circuiting water in turn your temp gauge will stay on the cold mark and the fans will not work so don’t let your vehicle over heat.

Tools needed would be pretty cool. Especially the special allen wrench needed for the pulley wheel. It's 6mm and not a standard hex head more like a star Hi torque screw under the cap there

My pump came with the pull already installed so I didn't need to install one

How you know the water pump went bad
@fyireviewsandhowtos31183 жыл бұрын
In this case the car was NOT over heating. Water was leaking from the water pump’s pulley shaft. The seals around the shaft had worn out and was leaking.
