In this video, I'll show you how to replace an outside tap. I'll tell you what you need, why you need it, and how to use it, and explain it all in simple words!
I hope you enjoy the Bloopers reel at the end!
The big adjustable wrench discussion!
I did my research beforehand and was confident I was using the wrench the right way, leading with the large, fixed side. My son said it should be the other way, leading with the smaller side. We watched numerous videos and different people do it different ways! We decided that, when it comes to the "correct" way to use a wrench, it depends on the job you're doing and who's doing it! I figure, in this case, I'm only turning a tap, so my way works fine.

You did better than I would have. I’m not an expert on how to use a wrench. Maybe it depends whether you are left or right handed 🤷‍♀️

@@How2Housewife only thing I know for sure is that the tap is fixed and I did it myself. 😁 and I'm happy about that!

Just stumbled upon this video. Great work Karen. A real confidence booster for lay people to have a go at DIY. The blooper reel cracked me up! It's the kind of thing I would do more than you. lol! Keep up the good work! Cheers, :)

brilliant information! I never knew about which way to wind the thread seal or the "round the park" approach to the wrench. I just tried to take up tap apart because it is leaking but don't have the strength to shift it :-(

I'm glad it helped. They can be quite tight but as long as you know you're turning it the correct way, just give it a good pull. Good luck with it! 😊
