The air flows upward, not downward. Check it for yourself by running the AC with the filter removed and your fingers inserted into the space.
@ChavezDIY Жыл бұрын
@@yippyfingers8867 I first thought the air flowed up, but nope it goes down. That's why the dust and leaves are on the top of the filter when you pull it out. If you are sucking in air from the outside (not recirculating inside air), the air gets sucked in from the top at the cowl and it goes downward through the filter, and then gets routed out the left and right ducting. If the air was blowing up, it would blow the leaves and dust out of the cowl and into the outside....then where would the outside air get sucked in from?

The instructions were excellent. When I accessed the filter chamber I noticed the Toyota dealers service department had not replaced the in cabin filter cover. I wondered why there was so much dust in the cabin.

That was an excellent instructional video!!! You’re a good teacher - you tell what you’re planning to do, then you show us how, step by step. And I wasn’t aware there is a DIY section in the manual. Thank you! I’m subscribing to see what else you have.

I appreciate the feedback! That's neat of Toyota to include a DIY section in the manual.

Miguel!! Good to see you still have car videos coming out. Need some more TSX videos, lol. Having to replace rack n pinion again! (went cheap route on round 1). Broke a lower control arm ball joint...caused issues when tire nearly came off. Hope you still have your TSX. I'm at 295,000 and want to hit 350. : )
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
Wassup bro! Yes, I will keep car videos coming (along with food and tech and other random topics). I still have more TSX videos to make, I just haven't had the time since I do distance learning with my son and I started a new part time job two months ago. What happened to the rack n pinion? Was it leaking fluid or did it get damaged when you broke the lower control arm ball joint? Of course I still have the TSX, I'm too broke to get another car anytime soon, haha! No doubt you'll get to 350k, totally doable as long as you take good care of the car. Right now I have about 150K miles on my TSX. I want to do a compression test on my engine to make sure the engine is still worth working on. I've never done a compression test so that should be a cool experience.

@@ChavezDIY Yea, when ball joint broke, think it did a number on the R&P. it has a dead zone now when turning, also when I jacked car and pressed on tire from side to side, it moved a lot. Thought it was because I went the cheap route when first replaced R&P, but now thinking it was working fine up until ball joint issue. You're vids are cool man, like that you refer to the manual for torques. Love my TSX cause not hard to work on. Will be on the lookout for your compression vid. Sounds like you got a lot going on. Keep Hustling Brotha!
@ChavezDIY3 жыл бұрын
@@elduran8686 When you lift the car on jack stands and check for wobble side to side, look behind the wheel at the joints and see if there's movement anywhere. Check your outer tie rod that connects the rack and pinion to your steering knuckle. Hold it near the ball joint and wiggle it with force from the front of the car to the rear. That outer tie rod should not move at all. If you damaged your outer tie rod, it may produce that dead zone or freeplay when steering. I refer to the manual because I'm a DIYer, I don't have a background working on cars, so I want to learn the right way. Ill keep on hustlin'!

Great instructions! I can do that! Thanks! P.S. You never told us who is doing the maintenance on her RAV$. LOL!
@ChavezDIY9 ай бұрын
Yes, you can do it! I'd rather do the work instead of her taking it to the dealer. When we bought the Rav4, they tried to get her to sign up for an oil change plan, I interrupted and told her I will take care of it. I recently had to change the door lock actuator on the Rav4, we saved a lot of money doing it myself =)

Everytime my mechanic replaces this filter.... i always end up vacumming the blower that's right below it because it makes a very annoying noise when i put my a/c on high and looks like he is being careless removing the filter. Now, im having a hard time removing some of the debris/dirt below it.... =( looks like I still have some leaves down there... do you have any tutorial how to dismantle the blower down there?
@ChavezDIY3 ай бұрын
I don't have a video on removing the blower motor, but there should be videos on youtube about that.
