Great tutorial. My install was slightly different but close enough that I could figure it out. Took me about 45 minutes and now all working fine. ❤❤❤ This was an AWESOME video!! It only took 35 MINUTES to change out my ice maker! 35 MINUTES!! Now, I only have to wait to see if this is my problem. If not, I have to keep searching for something more serious. But, heck, it was only around $70-80 for the part. If the ice maker is the problem, I definitely saved over hiring a technician.

Huge thank you!! This worked great. Mine is lightly different. The black water release on mine is 2 parts, a bit tricky to get in there. I also struggled to get the water to release from the yellow line because mine looked like it didn't have the same tab. Turns out I was wrong, I just pushed the hard yellow band towards the back and it released. I tried to order from your site but it was out of stock, ended up finding it somewhere else around the same price. I was nervous to do this but it turned out great. I shot a quick KZbin video myself, but gave you a huge shout out and all the praise. Your video was top quality and easy to see and understand all the steps. it worked great. Thank you!!

Great video, my install was slightly different in a 2013 Maytag model, the yellow water line was in the middle. We ordered the part from PartsDR. Now we will see if it works. (I didn’t have any error codes for the ice maker when I went through that process so we’ll see.)

@@johnturco7477That's too bad. Try checking the temperature in the ice bin to see if it is getting cold enough to produce ice (usually 15F or colder).

I had it opened with a meat thermometer and got it to 32.

@@johnturco7477To get an accurate reading, you will usually need to leave the thermometer in there for a few hours. Some models have an ice maker fan motor that distributes the cold air to the ice maker and ice bucket like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aZDIdqZtr6lneM0

This video was great. I replaced the ice maker and now it seems like the ice maker overfills. I just took it back apart and there was water all over the tray the ice maker sits in, and it drips into the ice bucket and freezes it solid. any idea?

What a great video. Repair man came and replaced the icemaker but there is still no ice. When first installed I got one tray of ice then nothing. The next morning there was no water. I turned the fridge temp up a few degrees then the water came back, but still no ice. Repair man came again yesterday and see he is ordering 'more parts' - any ideas on what the issue could be?

FINALLY found you here for our whirlpool as this one is …. Our problem is that when getting water dispensers giving water ( which works good) BUT water also flows out of the ceiling ice maker ( yes watched it do so ) inside the refrigerator …. And yes we get ice produced and falls into the motorized dispenser and yes can be cubed or crunched ice…. Help please .

Great video! I have the same fridge but my problem on mine is when I let water flow through the fridge the ice maker does not stop flowing and is like a waterfall.. not sure if there is some valve that's meant to shut off once the ice tray is full of water... are you able to help?

My freezer door was left cracked over the weekend end. My bottom ice maker makes ice fine. But the one in the ceiling hasn't made any since. I'm thinking it just froze up because water was dripping from it when we noticed. Any suggestions?

We would recommend to take the ceiling area of the refrigerator apart as shown in this video and remove any excess moisture/frost/ice that has accumulated. There is a fan motor for the ice maker that could be frozen or the air passage could be blocked. Once this happens, the cold air will not be delivered to the ice maker and it will stop making ice. Let us know what you find!

Unplug the refrigerator. If the water continues to leak into ice maker with the refrigerator unplugged, then both of your water valves are bad and should be replaced. Do you know where to find the part? I can’t find the ice maker part anywhere. Also would a bad filter prevent it from making ice? What are steps to diagnose? I had a handyman come out and he said he could hear it or feel heat like it was working but it just wouldn’t make ice.
