This is the best method to get to an air filter, if not replacing the entire housing. Thanks. There is a brute force way to shove the top cover toward the engine and free of the hood trim, but broke the hose doing it that way. Put a circumferential crack in it so the sensor was wonky. Loosening the screw on the ring clamp, pulling back on the hose, and then pulling the housing forward is the safest way to do it, and not that much more involved .... just one more tiny screw.

Mine has a clamp of sorts it's like a spring right there it has no screw or bolt there's only a stripped Phillips head bolt on the throttle body side of the intake hose/tube. How do I remove mine?

Use PB Blaster on the screws securing the top cover. The screws may be frozen if the dealer changed the filter last and over tightened the screws. Otherwise you might break the screws.

it's that easy? those screws that hold the upper part of the box broke, one the screw split in half and the other the screw got stuck and broke the plastic so I can't tighten in. hopefully I can do this :p

Damn! This happened to me. I over tightened one of the top cover screws. And bottom plastic part broke off. will I need to replace the whole Housin or I should be fine with it. Since the other 3 are good. ?

It's that darn stupid plastic clamp with the tabs that makes this difficult.

What a pile..way too much work for a simple air filter change...
