Excellent video. After watching this, I think I can do it myself and save some money. Update I was able to replace both front bearing due to this video. I did have a problem taking off the bearing after unbolting. I had to use a propane torch to bust the rusted bearings off. The heat expanded the metal enough to break the rusted seal. Thanks again for posting. You saved me hundreds of dollars I don't have. You got a new subscriber.

thanks for posting this video recently replaced rotors and calipers and the rotor was rusted to hub, and was quite difficult In retrospect should have just removed hub & rotor as a unit This video gives me confidence I can tackle this job

Have done this 3 times before. I like the idea of turning the assemble to get to that top bolt. I had to use a u-joint to get to it as the other tire was on the ground and couldn't turn for a more direct shot. I'll need to remember that the next time, which is due on the right side in about 25k miles.

I’ve always heard of people saying the bearings need packed real well.. are these prepacked with grease ? I was picturing a wheel bearing as just a bearing but it appears to come in its own housing? Man Idk much about wheelchair bearings but this video makes it look easy .. thank you

What was that big washer you took off behind the breaks? Is it important one side of my car had it and the other side didn't.

Its a dust shield or splash shield, it isn't necessary. Thanks for watching.

Should you change CV shafts while its torn down that far?
@s33therfan4 жыл бұрын
I would not change them unless the boots were visibly dry rotted / cracked or there was a popping clicking noise from damage already . Great question . Thank you for watching.

Do you know how much the parts and labor may cost for both? I was give an estimate of $226 dollars for both. None abs.
@s33therfan4 жыл бұрын
The parts ran me about $50 for both front wheel hub bearings, they could be around $70 each depending on the brand. Around $200 with labor seems normal. I would reccomend checking around your area just to make sure . The difference sometimes from one shop to the next could be significant. The main thing I would want them to warranty the work for atleast some period of time. Great question and thank you for watching.

Will replacing this affect the alignment?
@s33therfan2 жыл бұрын
It may affect it some but with this part it would be minimal. Thanks for watching.

In your opinion, could this be done without air tools?
@s33therfan Жыл бұрын
Yes . Most definitely . It may be a little more work , but no problem. Thanks for the feedback.

If you're the passenger in the car you will feel the vibration coming from the bearing in my case.
