How did this repair hold up? I'm about to do a similar repair on my Boxter, and I have to use the replacement gear that's got the plastic part in the center (as opposed to the OEM metal, inside, gear. Curious to hear if it's held up.

@@chackett99 it’s held up good, the IEM gear is actually plastic, you can buy upgraded metal gears if you want a permanent fix

@@regularmechanic4196 Thanks for the response, I appreciate it. at 8:06, you pull out the "assembly" which has a metal center piece and then the broken plastic, white, gear. I've read that the all metal replacements aren't great because they have a tendency to bind and that the plastic parts are designed to break in order to prevent more damage elsewhere in the system. Anyway, if your all plastic replacement has held up it doesn't really matter. I've ordered the same, all plastic replacement gears and will be installing them in the next few weeks. I think you mean convertible top motor gears, not sunroof.
