Informative, especially mentioning the wastegate issue. Looking forward to replacing my OEM with the PowerMax to keep that OEM+ feel. I'll be coming back to this when I do the install, thank you!

I would go with the big wheel stocker (BWS) same oem response, can get more power out of it compared to the power max and you save $400-500$ over power max. 350 whp on bws and power max is tapped out at 290 hp or just shy of 300.

I am looking at doing the power max turbo this weekend. Very good video. Only question is when do you drain and add coolant in?
@Jbpgarage5 ай бұрын
Drain first, make sure the engine is cold before working on it, and add last. Don’t forget to bleed the coolant system.

How long did it take to remove and install?

Do you have contact info? I wanted to get a quote on getting this same work done on the 13-18 Focus ST. Thanks!

I used this video to replace my turbo that had the same wastegate issue. I removed the wiper shroud but not the wipers themselves. From there, I moved the coolant expansion tank and loosened the upper motor mount to push the motor forward. I drained the oil but didn't drain the coolant. Removed all lines and pulled the turbo from the top with plenty of clearance. For those reading this, use all new gaskets. Add your coolant and oil before pushing the motor back in place so you can see if any fluids are leaking. I had to do it twice because the coolant feed wasn't tight and I ended up taking a bath in it lol If everything goes right the first time, this will take 3-5 hours.

Did you car have any symptom before changing the wastegate?
@Jbpgarage3 ай бұрын
@dragonmastersalsa7033 wouldn’t build boost
@dragonmastersalsa70333 ай бұрын
@@Jbpgarage yes but any boost or it was les boost than normal ?
@jesuscarrillo43443 ай бұрын
@dragonmastersalsa7033 It would build boost depending on outside temp. On warm days, I could get between 5-6 psi, on cool days, 7-8 psi, winter months 10-12 psi. What happened is that it would have a 50/50 chance of tripping underboost code before it reaches the previously mentioned boost levels. That puts the car in limp mode and limits the boost to 4.5 psi. Turning the car off and them back on will take the limp mode away without needing to clear codes.

@@jesuscarrillo4344 ohh i see ,because i have already like a year that my car it only makes a quarter of the boost gauge of boost and i change a lot of parts already and im guessing is probably the wastegate but i dont have any codes or smoke or nothing ,car is smooth and everything ,i connected to a friends diagnostic computer and theres no codes ,its kind of weird
