Just finished front brake job on my 4Runner, thanks to your video. This is by far, the most comprehensive 4Runner pad and rotor replacement video I've come across on the internet. I purchased the caliper piston spreader from your website. After using it on a Rav4 and 4Runner front brake job, I don't regret the purchase at all. Makes spreading the pistons easy and less stress of possibly messing them up. Thank you.

By far the best 4Runner Brake Pad replacement video online. Your covered all bases and all precautions that need to be taken. Really appreciate the excellent and thorough tutorial! Now if only it was this easy to break loose the bolts holding my calipers on... 🤣😂😁

As a woman about to change my rotors for the first time ever - I love seeing another woman show me how 👏 Plus you cover important parts that others don’t even discuss. Thanks!

Thanks for the video! Swapped my front brakes today and it went well! Just a caution to folks- I discovered that one of the my piston seal retention rings had come off on its own during driving (it fell out as I was gently removing the pad, so it was a Toyota defect) as there was a build up of dust behind the portion of the piston that was exposed, which I cleaned before reinstalling the ring. The factory brakes had developed a slight vibration, especially if there were passengers about a year after ownership..and I never abused those brakes, so I figure that was the root cause since that piston was a bit slower to push back into the caliber with the ratcheting spreader tool. I have the OEM seal kit on order and will be changing them all if need be.

Why not take 2 seconds to put a tube on that bleeder to keep things neat?

Good job, but I noticed you didn’t put any grease on the pins or back and sides of the pads. Is there a reason for that?

NOTE* Not ALL Toyota 4Runner have 19mm Bolts mounting the Caliper to the Knuckle. My 2014 Toyota 4Runner Limited uses 17mm Boots with a Torque of 91 ft.Lbs. - I thought I had everything ready then realized it's not 19mm like you said at 5:13min. (I had to run to O'Reilly's to get a 1/2 x 17mm.)

This is a fantastic video! Very well done. Basically identical to a MTB brake service, just bigger components.

instead of loosing brake fluid and potetially sucking in air,,,just remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir,,this will allow the pre3ssure to come up ,,that way when the cap is on,,this will create pressure within the brake lines,,,
