These wheel bearings were fairly old so we added new ones in. This video will show you how to replace them. If the bearings have fairly low miles on them and are in good shape you can reuse them.

You may also want to check any tabs or metal pieces that may possibly be coming into contact with the brake rotors. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

The whole job is a piece of cake. Only problem I ran into was the sleeves/bushings near the caliper bolt heads on the calipers. Didn't realize they could come out. Very helpful. Thanks guys.

Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. We have a Blazer 97 and days after replacing the pads began a sound, that when treading on the brake pedal is removed. We review and there is nothing loose except the new pads. Is there a missing element that serves to hold the pads and do not sound (like tacle-tacle) when driving the car? Something like "no noise" clips? Thank you

My haynes manual said something about bending the tabs on the pads around the caliper or something? But I didn't read that till a few days after I did the brakes. Should I worry?

So the castle nut and cotter pin are the only things holding the rotor in place?

This was awesome.... Is it normal after installing the new rotors and pads to have a small amount of friction between the pads and the rotor when spinning by hand while on a jack? The tire will rotate about 5 times but can hear a small amount of friction. Im assuming this is ok and brakes need to be broke in.

If you followed the steps in this video you should be fine. You could always take the tire off and check the pads in the caliper to see if they have stayed seated okay.

Yes, you can add some anti-squeak lube to the back of the brake pads to help prevent them from making any noise.

Normally after installing brakes, you will notice a small amount of friction because everything needs to seat itself. The brakes are what is known as a floating caliper so once everything is in its proper place and the brakes are released, the caliper will slide allowing space for the rotor to spin freely.

You would need to buy new bearings for the new rotor. there may be a race already installed on your new brake rotor. The inner an outer wheel bearing will more than likely be different. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

do you have to bleed the brake lines?
@1AAuto
@1AAuto 10 жыл бұрын
You do not need to unless the brakes are very hard or really spongy after the brake job is done. If this is the case, here's a video that we did that will show you how to bleed the brakes. Hope this helps you out. How To Bleed air out of brake system alone without a helper

my brakes squeal... can I grease the rotors to quiet them?
@1AAuto
@1AAuto 6 жыл бұрын
+steve bigler You should never place grease on the rotors, this action may cause the brakes to fail. You can try to use some anti-squeak lubricant on the back of the brake pads and also the caliper pins. Hope this helps you out.
