Dude, I am loving your videos on the Ford F-150 V8 1997-2003 since I own a 1998 ;) Any chance you would do a video on replacing the inside cabin filter please :) Another thumbs up!
@2carpros5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! We have a few more videos coming on this truck so keep an eye out for those. I saw your previous comment about the cabin air filter and I actually looked on our test truck and due to it being a base model it does not have an air cabin filter. So I can't make a video about it sadly.

video was informative ….in real life, bolts don't come out so easy. passenger side..like clock work... drovers side like HELL! Bottom bolt did not want to come out, couldn't knock it out with hammer..had to get propane tank and heat like hell. bolt started to spin but would not come out..it took 2 hrs just to remove bottom bolt. once removed it took only 15 minutes tops to install new shock.

Not easy on a truck that has a stuck bolt, tried heat, 13mm is on the front side of the control arm on mine, looks to be a nut welded in place on the back side, 13mm side stripped, hardest shock job I have ever experienced

Next time go to NAPA and buy some penetrant called "In-Force". Made by BG. Leave it to soak 15 minutes. This crap isn't cheap but all my 24 year old rusty shock bolts came apart no trouble.

The bolt through the lower control arm is a nightmare. I wish they came out as easy as this one did for the author, but that just isn't what I have experienced.

Can you do this with tire on. Just turn tire sideways.?
@2carpros2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. The suspension will be compressed so you will not be able to get the shock off much less the new one on. Thanks for watching!
@maximusvonce13812 жыл бұрын
@@2carpros I replaced front shocks on 2009 wrangler with tires on. I compressed shock by hand and bolted in.

You really are not SUPPOSED to reuse those top lock style nuts, but the factory nuts are priced like gold jewelry.

Yeah you are supposed to use whatever comes with the replacement unit. Thanks for watching!

Kind of a late reply but you can get 3/8 nylon lock nuts from Home Depot
