HI Matti, We currently do not have an auto repair video for that particular application. If you happen to have a Chiltons or a Haynes manual, it should state what the size of the axle nut is.

HI Joey, Check out HarborFreightcom they may have an inexpensive one that's of decent quality. The axle nuts need to be set at the correct torque for proper wear.

Some vehicles are not equipped with a cotter pin for the wheel bearings axle nut.

Very helpful video, just did the wheel bearing in my 97 intrepid and it took 3 hours to get the bearing out because of RUST. If you don't have air tools I wouldn't even attempt replacing a wheel bearing.

Usually when they go bad you can hear them making a humming noise inside of the car.

wish this video was out when i did my bearings a year ago lol. hardest part was getting into those back 3 bolts that held the bearing on, theres not too much room to work there.

Just take care after completing the job that your brakes do not drag. Had this happen on a Neon after resetting the caliper and with new pads. The brakes dragged enough to cause enough heat to melt the hub cap.

i have a question,my wife hit the curb on drivers side on 93 intrepid,now the tire is turned out a bit..steering wheel wont go back to center,...now would the problem be the tension strut?since there are only the control arm and tension strut on there?thanks,cant find video of this...good cars,those 93 intrepids,3.3L

@cronpuffer420 it is exactly the same as a Sebring. Good video 1aauto. As an ASE certified mechanic for 25 years, that is exactly how I would have done it with one exception. I would have used a brass drift punch to drive the half-shaft out of the hub, or at least to break it loose initially. That avoids the possibility of damaging the threads. Also if someone at a lube shop has topped of the master cylinder, it may overflow when the caliper piston is compressed. Not harmful but messy.

Just pay attention to your torque on the 3 bolts. When using a socket with a extension, you will lose some torque in the twist of the extension .. especially when you have a cheap set of tools...(the common shade tree mechanic) I set mine to about 95 foot pounds and after.. I checked them all again

Don't hit the axle with a big hammer if the axle is rusted inside the hub Which is most likely you risk mushrooming the axel and the axle nut will not go back on. Use a brass drift, piece of wood or other material that won't damage axle. Between hammer and axle.

Also when using the extension on the back bolts and removing with a breaker bar it is easy to cause the socket to cock to the side and strip the nut. Becareful to keep socket square when applying tourque.

Idk about all of u but why would you hurt the end of the drivealxe with a steel hammer I would like a rubber hammer or a dead blow hammer that's rubber not a little sledgehammer that could ruin the threads you might be a Certified mechanic after watching this video I don't know if I'll let him work on my car
