How To Replace Power Steering Pump & Power Steering High Pressure Line for 1998-2003 TOYOTA COROLLA

Before starting to do this job Autozone & Orielly Auto parts has two types of "power steering pump"
the difference are union bolt connector there's longer one & there's shorter one that its build as one to the power steering pump. I highly suggest to buy both types of power steering pump for just one trip at a time by eliminating of wasting travel time at the store. in addition, there's non complete pump and complete pump assembly I rather get the complete pump with tube w/o the pulley to save money due to the cost, because you can used the old pump pulley if it's not broken or worn out. next, if you have basic knowledge and basic tools with some special wrench that would used into special power steering hose would be great, I highly recommend getting special wrench for it for not risking stripping the bolt. second, after removal & install and repair you need to bleed the system,
All Data "bleeding procedures
1. Check fluid level.
2. Jack up front of vehicle and support it with stands.
3. Turn steering wheel.
With the engine stopped, turn the wheel slowly from lock to lock several times.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Start engine.
Run the engine at idle for a few minutes.
6. Turn steering wheel.
a. With the engine idling, turn the wheel to left or right full lock position and keep it there for 2-3 seconds, then turn the wheel to the opposite full lock position and keep it there for 2-3 seconds.
b. Repeat a. several times.
7. Stop engine.
8. Check for foaming or emulsification.
If the system has to be bled twice specifically because of foaming or emulsification, check for fluid leaks in the system.
9. Check fluid level.

Yes I fixed it up, actually there's two type of power steering pump for this toyota corollas. With non extended union bolt or extended union bolt. Mine are non extended union bolt

@11:00 i find a regular pair of pliers works best for those nuts/unions one has to turn one flat at a time !!!

Great video with the pulley I don't think you had to take it off I think there was like a slot that you can spin it in the bolts would have fit am I right

that's why i take off the pulley because at autozone some parts does not come with pulley you have to used the original pulley or some parts come with the whole assembly. that's why i take off the pulley

sorry to bother, but I think you have the Union Bolt foot pounds torque wrong. Looks like it's 15 for the Oil Pressure Switch. and 40 for the Union Bolt. According to your diagram at video time 45:37. Also in your video description, you say the Union Bolt torque is 51 Ft-lbs, but I think this is incorrect. Other than that, good job.

I changed the pressure line on my 99 corolla I look for leak and bleed the system for air and every thing seem fine but then I notice that when I turn right the power steering make a clunk and when I turn left it does not do it. Also when I start the car the power steering pump makes noise the level affluent is where it should be.

ok, first double check if the clunking noise are coming from 1) power steering pump 2) outer tie rod end 3)inner tie rod 4) control arm ball joint 5) something get caught when you turn right - if the noise is there before you repair the car something about steering system or front suspension OR if the noise happened after your repair the power steering line. double check the basic stuff. next, possible that power steering pump are getting worn out internal seals or bearing are getting worn out due to miles and year. also there are 2 types or power steering pump, i will post the different type of powering steering once i found the video
