Thanks for making this. I have 2 piece rotors coming in and I was trying to decide if it's something I can do after work or wait until the weekend. You made it look super easy and everything went perfect for you, but it never turns out that way for me so I think I'll wait. But you definitely made it look easy enough for an easy Saturday job. Thanks again 😃

Hey thanks for the video! I've been doing my own car maintenance for 30 + years but I know there's always more to learn. My wife got a used 2012 EX35 a year and a half ago, we love the car but it recently started getting a pulsing feeling on the brakes, it's still under warranty but the "stealer" wanted almost $1000 for a full brake job. (brakes are a wear item and not covered) Well, I checked around and OEM pads and rotors for all 4 wheels are available for under $200! So I did it myself. Your video gave me the confidence to take in this project and do it properly. Much appreciated. Cheers!

Sounds like a warped rotors. Had to replace both front rotors on my 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan, with only 40,000 miles. But, I heard this is a common problem Chrysler has with the vans. Let's see how the non o.e.m. replacements hold up.

Rotors Do Not Warp,they become worn uneven The only common problem is doing nothing Never taking things apart - to make them work properly They would have to get to 1,400 or more They only get to to 400 if dragging & run at about 260 when working properly Get yourself an Infrared Heat Gun Who do you think makes the OEM Parts The same companies that sell to the aftermarket
@MrTmenzo
@MrTmenzo 7 жыл бұрын
John Yost O really doubt you bought OEM parts for under 200. As an example an oem rotor for an old 07 honda accord is still 80 a piece. Unless honda oem parts are more expensive than infiniti oem parts or something.

Hey Jim. Why does my new brakes; slotted rotors and ceramic pads, (front driver side), make a humming noise when I apply the pedal to slow the car from 45mph to 20mph? It happen during the process of bedding in. No, it's not metal to metal contacting sound you would normally hear after putting on brakes. What is the culprit? Please advise. The car I have is 3.7 Q50.

My guided pin on the bottom is seized. I can still break it loose but there’s still resistance when trying to turn it over many times to loosen it up. But at the end of the thread it won’t come off. I found out because when putting new brake pads it. My rims wheel be scorching hot to touch. How do I replaced my caliper if i can’t remove that bottom guided pin? We tried hammering it, we tried putting wd40 and thought about torching it but the gas tank is right there 😅. I have a 2015 q50 3.7

If you're doing your rear brakes in the garage with a jack, how do you jack the car without the parking brake on? Wouldn't the car move when your jacking up the car?
@petemiller5813

Anytime I do brakes I always move the caliper back and forth after tightening the caliper slider bolts just to confirm that there is not any binds on the caliper slide pins, then I push the brake pedal to seat the brake pads against the rotors.

You Never install New Pads on Old Rotors Machine the old rotors For whatever reason the shops just install new ones I fail to see that logic, having done brake work for over 50 years, with no issues The vibration is from the worn rotor surface & any lack of rust removal & lack of lube on the caliper bracket,slide pins,pads etc

Not so fast. In some cases where rust is an issue the caliper bracket mounting bolts are very difficult to remove. The bolts go right through the brackets, therefore the bolt ends are covered in rust and need to be "barred" all the way out. Further these ends tend to rip the threads inside the bracket on removel

You are no different then any shop or dealership. you all un-necessarily change the rotors and charge the poor customers hundreds of dollars for parts they dont need. I've never seen you do a brake job w/o changing the rotors? besides that, as always, very good informative videos. Ty
