On my Kohler. The knot in the handle broke or rotted out. I had to take the top part of mower apart a few bolts and screws. I was able to reuse the old rope and pull it there the handle with needle nose pliers and I double knotted it. reassembled the top part of mower back and it w as good to go and it’s been fine for over a year

After 20 minutes of operation (motor cultivator) the engine (Kohler CH395) starts to give and reduce gas and then shuts down. After that it will not light up for 5-10 minutes. Most likely until the engine cools down and then starts again and runs for a while until it shuts down again. What is happening?

Could be a fuel issue like a plugged vent in the fuel cap, carb has dirt in the carb bowl, a coil that is bad. Check the flow of fuel to the carb

Greetings Mr Just DIY, would you happen to know about the recoil for a Kohler K161T? a cast iron 7 hp engine for a troybilt. it has the 3 dogs that extend from the round metal cover. Do you know where I could get an exploded view or diagram? What makes the dogs or pawls or catches come out to grip the inside of the cup with grooves in it. I would really appreciate ur help, I'm trying to get dad's rototiller running again. its about 40 yrs old. Engine has holes to mount a starter, so i'd have to get a ring gear for flywheel and starter. whatever u think might be the quickest way to get it going. Thanks again!

I don't have a diagram for it but a flywheel and starter is how I would go unless you want to keep it just like your Dad had it to start with.

@@MrJustDIY I imagine a ring gear would have to be bolted to the flywheel or maybe it has gear ring gear cast into flywheel already and get a starter or maybe just a pulley made to fit the crankshaft with a proper notch so I could wrap a rope around it? Someone else took it apart and lost a few parts so that does not help. reason they took it apart was that the dogs were not expanding into the grooved cup on the crankshaft.

Do you know if they sale just the components like diode a 8 pin cercent wher you can take old one out and the new one in
