Engage emergency brake, chock back wheels, raise hood, Leave Battery Alone, Jack up car, place stands (my 2018 RAV4 has a single jack point in the front center just beyond the radiator and it lifts both front tires same time), Remove the *Passenger* tire, remove cover, release tensioner, remove belt, place on new.

Why did you remove the driver's side wheel?

Been wondering this myself 🤣🤣🤣

I guess the video was cut/paste from other videos to make this instruction. Notice when they replaced the driver side's wheel, the wheel chocks (at the rear wheel) were not there.

He seemed preoccupied in deep thought, I suppose. You know, we all experience those times when our minds are absorbed in thought while doing something, only to later realize we've put our left shoe on our right foot or filled a cup until it overflows, all because we were lost in deep contemplation.

Thanks, this video helped...I just did my 2016 Rav 4 Hybrid, it's a small thin belt that goes around the crank and only drives the water pump. Not much tension on the tensioner, very easy to do. It is easier if you remove the wheel and the plastic cover, just takes a little longer and you can see if the belt seats properly.

Thank you so much every tip helped, I was able complete replacement, only issue was new belt is very tight, so you need to pull the tension more upward in comparison to removing the old one, it was very hard so I used another wrench to lock it to the end of the wrench gripping the tension & was much easier

Ouf! I had such a hard time doing this. I ended up getting it done from above. I couldn't get it from underneath because I just couldn't move the tensioner back enough to give me enough play to get the belt around the last pulley. The tool I rented was too long and kept hitting other parts on the car thereby hindering it's full movement or my tools were too short and I couldn't get enough leverage while contorting my body to get that last pulley. I noticed that I could move then tensioner much further from above so I got everything sorted down below and then went above got the alternator last. Not going to lie, I was started to get a little worried at one point that I was going to have to have the car towed to a mechanic.

I had the same issue I couldn't do it from top because I didn't have a long enough wrench or arm to get a good grip, with the car being raised, what helped me was using a second wrench to lock it into the end of the 14mm that's gripped to the tension and just push up & I was able to just get it Just finished the repair today driving the car around now
