Exactly what I needed to do this job! Noted that you'll need to buy new throttle body gaskets and EGR gasket for best results. Note that if you buy only the thermostat housing at most places, it includes the o'rings for the openings, but not the TB and EGR gaskets.

Great video! I changed the thermostat housing with a genuine assembly...changed coolant housing and coolant. Engine is still overheating though. Any ideas? Wonder if water pump isn’t moving the coolant? Wasn’t able to get all 3 gallons of coolant in when I changed it out. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to bleed the system more so that trapped air in the heater matrix is expelled. When you set the cabin heat on max and blower on max you should be getting full heat in the cabin; if not then bleed some more.

I didn't really understand what you used to get the hardest bolt for the throttle body off. I heard 8mm wobbly socket? I couldn't find one at O'reilly's so if you could let me know where to find one, it'd be a huge help

Thanks for posting this. I did a few things differently, but a flex head with a wobble extension was absolutely key to getting the bottom bolts out of the heads. Very glad I got it done instead of just leaving it with a new expansion tank and level sensor since there was major corrosion around the temp sensor, some of the bolts, and a visible crack down the top sitting below the intake. Pro tip for anyone watching - ANY time you see black plastic housing or other parts of the cooling system start to turn brown, time to replace it ASAP!

Thanks for posting this video! If you remove the fan cover, fan, and front coolant hoses, you can easily access throttle body bolts. Doing this made fitting new housing roomy, assuring that all bolts are seated properly. Great opportunity here to clean throttle body as well!

i removed the yellow the yellow clips and installed the two parts separately. made it easier to access the intake bolts and was able to pull everything together, the original didn't even have the clips.

Thanks for this video. The other video I saw said "pull the intake manifold" and the idea of that made me question every life choice that got me here. Appreciate that saner eyes looked at this problem before mine.

Currently doing this job, can’t sneak anywhere on this engine…..I took off all the hoses first, then wanted to remove the 4 bolts holding the throttle body to the plenum thinking that would release everything together…nope, you have to separately remove the air tube from the throttle body then you can remove the throttle base……if you try to take off the throttle body hoping the air tube will come with it, Land Rover/BMW/Jaguar made sure the bolts jam against the air boot so you have no clearance and just remove everything piece by piece 🤦🏻‍♂️

hi there great video. can that bleeder hose be removed the one that's underneath the thermostat housing and under the intake manifold. can that clamp be undone and hose removed without removing the intake manifold. land rover part# is LR006158 thanks
@paulwaterlander6182
@paulwaterlander6182 3 жыл бұрын
The only way to replace that hose is to remove the intake manifold. Only Land Rover would place the end of a coolant hose under the intake manifold. Also, you will find this information NOWHERE on the Internet....it is all trial and error. Caution: you more than likely will need to replace the intake manifold gaskets after you replace the hose, as it may set off a vacuum code error once you put it all together again! Super frustrating.

Thank you for the Perfect video! Nice job! I have one question? I heard you are supposed to remove the yellow clamp on the housing after you install it. I heard that the yellow clamp restricts the expansion from the heat so there is even wear on the o-ring
