Much easier if you remove the throttle body, then you have easy access to the clips.

DaveyF6B I agree that would be easier, then you wouldn't have to sit on the radiator support the whole time, but i was lazy and didn't wanna remove it haha!

How do you reset the engine light after you replace it

William Younce you can go to an AutoZone or other parts store, and they can reset your code for free. Or I bought a Bluetooth OBDII reader off amazon for $20 so I can do it myself.

William Younce the engine light will actually turn off by itself as long as there are not any other codes setting it off. Wait to see if it turns itself off, that way you know if your new part works. If the light doesn’t turn itself off, you could have an issue other than the TPS

I have 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD classic (same truck your working on in video) I replaced my TBS and I am still going in to safety mode!!!! My truck will run fine for days then it won't then it's fine again.....I am at my breaking point!!!! Any advice on what to try now!!!! I have replaced battery, wired checked all the fuel system filter lines everything!!!!?????

MUFN's Garage I am replacing the accelerator pedal sensor right now.... I pray it works.... It was throwing codes for the pedal so we shall see

Check if there is a sensor at the accelerator pedal. It is the other part of the TPS and there is usually a sensor at the Gas pedal that sends the signal to the TPS at the throttle body. On my Chevy truck it that unit came as an entire assembly with a new pedal and all. Hope that helps

Hello I have a 2012 gmc sierra sle 1500 it starts fine and idles for about 10 minutes and then it will die and and I get the stable track and reduced power screen it thin will start a few minutes latter and idle and thin dies again same screens does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this thank you very much(:

Sometimes the wiring harness that runs between the firewall and motor gets frayed. See if anything is grounded there or around the alternator. Also check the ground for a clean connection at the frame that's below the driver's seat area.

when your sensor went bad was it related to the stabilitrack and the trackion control and causing your engine to power down?

That’s probably a misfire and you need to change your spark plugs. Mine did that and my 7th spark plug was all burnt up. Cheap fix. Go scan it at a local shop and see what comes up.

I turned the gear on the sensor with a flat head screwdriver to line it up with the peice on the throttle body.Now my engine revs high/ runs hard.What do I do?

Yes I just purchased a new sensor. Installed it.Switched the key to the start position took the post off the battery to reset the computer.After that it ran crazy for about a week. Then back to normal. Appreciate the vid. Good info

Dean Robert, I did the same thing, now my engine idles at 3000 RPMS. Can I take the sensor back off and readjust it back to fix the problem or do I just need to buy another sensor now? It looks like even if I had pressed open the throttle to line it up, it would have still moved to the same position when I let go of the throttle plate.

Relearn procedure: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHLRdqKDlp1jjLs Apparently it takes a while for the truck's computer to relearn the position of the throttle. After trying the 3 minute idle, 1 minute off, 3 minute idle procedure several times and driving it around over 44 mph several times with no success, I let it sit over night and the problem fixed itself. Wish all my mechanical problems resolved themselves that way.

Whether you adjust the sensor to fit on the throttle body or rotate the throttle body to fit on the sensor either way your computer has learned and registered the inputs from your previous settings so it takes a little while for your computer to re learn the new settings for the throttle body or sensor it is perfectly normal

I changed out the Gas Pedal, The TPS, and it still saying Engine Power Reduced. I checked all the wires In the Pedal and the One hook up to the TB and they was all good. But Sometimes It will even Kill the Truck. What could be the problem?

Yes I left the battery connected and I did not need a relearn process for the part, i've been driving it for months with no problems.

I see that GM has a Service Campaign Bulletin #11273B for replacing this part on most trucks 2008 - 2011 within a period of 10 years from purchase or 120,000 miles. I will be visiting my nearby GM dealer tomorrow to see if I can get this service prior to my holiday trip next week. Slim chance, but I will try.
