If you want to develop a new habit-be the best you and realize your potential, you have to learn how to reprogram your subconscious mind. Learn how to switch off "Auto-pilot" mode and act with greater intention. Dr. Nicole LePera recommends starting each day by using a Future Self Journal, where you imagine your life as if you've already achieved the results that you want. Why does this work? Your mind can't tell the difference between reality and what you imagine vividly.
Full Stream: • Holistic Psychology w/...
Dr. Nicole LePera Journal: yourholisticpsychologist.com/
The reason why many of us are stuck lives in the subconscious part of our brain.
Example
Driving your car home and thinking about the argument you had with your boss, not thinking about the road while driving. It's automatic. Then you are suddenly home. Your subconscious drove you home. 95% of our day is running on autopilot.
The Future Self Journal
A technique you can use to question the power of your subconscious so that you engage with the idea of changing it.
- it's a daily practice
- you use the power of writing
- you can do your journaling in the morning
Autopilot will not make a new choice. The act of writing your intentions every morning helps increase the likelihood to practice this new habit. Writing as if it's already true will harness the reality of our mind. The mind does not know if what you think is real or imagined. It's the act of writing in Present Tense as if this change already happened.
The neuroplasticity of our brains i.e. the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life is going to help you form some new networks. Do this at least 30 days. Note, it can take more than 30 days for some people. This is not a magic journal or a quick fix. It is a tool to create that repetitive consistent change.
Journaling Prompts
I am grateful for...
3 traits of the Future Self...
What is the Science behind the statement that you cannot tell the difference between reality and what it is imagined?
Our mind is an active process. All the neurons firing up and building neurosynaptic pathways.
The most fascinating research is called Mental Rehearsal.
They'll have basketball players visualizing a free throw and the neurons are moving as if their arm is moving, even though the player's arm did not move yet.
How can we overcome the fear of making mistakes
We all have a space from which our best decisions come that's not actually coming from our minds at all. It is coming from our deeper, intuitive center that many of us have lost touch with.
- decrease the amount of time you are spending in your mind
- stop contemplating decisions
- do the deeper work and condition yourself from operating under your old believes about yourself that might have been real for you at that particular time and space they were born
- get comfortable with being uncomfortable

So me and my friend decided to quote smoking together and we wrote all the reasons why individually and afterwards we read those reason to each other over and over again everyday, when somebody else tells you your reason why it starts to hit you deeply and hearing it often well basically we started to feel disgusted by the habit, we set a quit date but way before it came we were ready to let it go, I think the same can be applied to having a success mindset, thanks for the show guys

I made a 10min sound recording of myself telling myself, I am this or that and play it all through the night. each morning I wake up to it and just listen to it as I wake up. sometimes I repeat what it says, sometimes I don't, but I go to sleep listening to it and wake up listening to it.

I've got a question. So do you look at your previous notes every day before writing (and this way they influence you)? Or do you start from scratch every time? Also are you supposed to look through the notes during they day (so it'll remind you of your plan)?

*READ THIS COMMENT* If yall are suffering from anxiety these tips can very much help which once help me. First of all, Journal is very reccomended. Understand anxiety at a deeper level pinpoint the exact issue and strike with your attention. Anxiety is created by overthinking about the future. This is a meditation/ journaling combo that I use every morning. I do it morning specifically because your mind woke up from bed first thing in the morning you wake up fresh. Meditation focus on your breathing remain present and remember all your thoughts. It might be painful to remember these types of thoughts but recording it down on paper after 5 min can really help pinpoint the issue. Then visualize what you really want to happen by scripting down your future in paper with detail. Physiologically speaking, focus to always no matter seated legs spread, hand spread take space. KZbin affirmations Learning to find the positive in negative situations. Questioning with positivity. For ex. Why am I angry? Can be said as How does emotion serve me? Always eat and sleep healthy.

So basically it is the same thing, as for example in American Beauty: "I will sell this house today" - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYSTZ32sqdF0mZo (which I was thinking is little bit bullshit) or the same thing as Arnold Schwarzenegger used to „imagine his muscles grow“ (which makes me also smile as... oh... haha) but this is wraped in more acceptable package. So all those years i was making a fun og technique that is not snakeoil but it actually works it looks like... I should google some studies about that. Thanks!

This sounds a lot like Chaos Magic just without calling it Chaos Magic. If you were practicing chaos magic your Journal would be filled by Sigils and you would also use gnosis so you can "download" your conscious intention to your subconscious mind, just writting it down everyday might be slower than if you actually meditate and focus on your sigil and what it means.
