This does not work. No matter which option you select there will be a prompt stating that additional free space is needed on the drive where Windows is installed. If you've forgotten your password for an HP Stream, you might as well throw the damn thing away.

Budget devices with Windows 10 have a 3-5 year old version, that will get literally years of updates, security patches. This may take several days of wifi to accomplish and pc/ tablet may reboot multiple times. Any freeze along the way, or failure to reboot can lock device. @@DimpzMusicENT Just download the WIN10 from here www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 create a bootable USB and boot from USB. You might have to turn off UEFI on the boot for it to work.

Hey my mother has this exact laptop, she has forgotten her password, I have tried that where you type the F11 and all that does is just totally lock the pc up and I can not get too that blue screen that u got to. virgil broyles idk if this helps but 1. boot up the laptop 2. Wait for login/password prompt 3. Hold down the (shift) key and continue to hold it through the next few steps 4. While still holding down shift, use the mouse to click the power option and select (shutdown and restart) 5. While still holding down shift key, let the computer shutdown and restart 6. After restart the screen he is on in this video should show up. I’m doing this to my sons laptop (HP Stream) currently because he’s mother forgot the password from a few years ago. I hope this helps! Edit: it’s best to do this when the laptop has a good charge on it, also it wouldn’t hurt to keep it plugged in while doing this reset

Detox Team, absolutely it is!I was able to reset the computer and set a new password for my son to use the laptop. Edit: my sons mom had the purple HP Stream from a few years back and this worked perfectly for resetting the password.

No resetting means wiping all data and then reinstalled Windows / Drivers & third party programs that they want to force-feed you to buy like Anti Viruses. After a reset go to (Programs and Features) and removed all the programs you did not install or do not want before doing anything else. Then connect to the Internet and get your Favorite Avast Antivirus. Turn off windows Updates, W10 important updates will still happen you can't stop that but program updates like Dot Net Framework will need to be installed by you if you wanted it.

March 30 22 this worked. I hv a 14 stream (light pink) up laptop. It wouldn’t come on, it would blink once and Thts it. I tried a few videos out none worked BUT this one. I did hv to erase everything bc it wouldn’t take my password and Ik I ws typing it correctly. So I recommend saving important files in a hard drive just in case it happens again. I wish the ones well with this video if you’re having the same issues!
