How to Restart a Frozen iPhone

Here’s how to force restart an iPhone with a frozen screen in just three steps. Even the latest iPhones will occasionally freeze up and you will need to use this little trick to restart your iPhone.
While Apple provides instructions on how to restart your iPhone, they aren’t complete because recent iOS updates can make the process take a bit longer than expected. Be sure to hold the power button down for as long as it takes your iPhone to restart. It’s common to take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.

thank you for making this video. For everyone who might have this problem. I use an assistive touch, and it was stuck on the control center. I found another video prior to that showed you how to hard reset but it didn't work. This actually did and is a life saver! Because I tried swiping (unresponsive), resetting with siri and was just going to let my phone die. This though, is concise and to the point. Highly recommend and I don't comment alot!!!

You legit saved my life. I had gotten water in my iphone 13 a couple days prior due to rain...I needed to charge it for my alarm and hit emergency override. My phone was fine, a little slow the next couple days, but fine. It would only charge wireless though. But today it randomly got stuck on my lockscreen, it showed that my camera button wasn't available, my flashlight was but it wouldn't let me click it, and it couldn't swipe or touch anything...even when I tried to power it off it wouldn't slide, but this video helped so much. Thank goodness for this video. Most videos on how to restart a frozen iphone suggest holding volume up and power button. This doesn't work because you then have to swipe right to turn off...which of course you can't do if the iphone is frozen.
