Some things that actually helped to control my hairfall include: (1) I discontinued wearing ponytails because it causes tension damage. (2) I started massaging my hair and scalp twice a week with liitleextra cocoonnion hair oil while leaning forward & holding my head upside down to allow blood flow to the scalp. (3) Protecting my head while moving out to shield my hair from pollution. (4) Using gentle shampoo again from liittleextra only to wash my hair.

I hate when ppl say that to black girls. our hair genetically grows the slowest and more prone to breakage so we retain length alot slower than other races. It is JUST hair to us and we cherish it. nothing wrong with that.

We have to also look at how we are taking care of our bodies as well. We have to start from the inside and what we eat that takes care of the outside. I am a person that has said it's only hair before because I look at our hair as a plant that has to be nourished to grow , now sometimes we do fall off and things happen. I've had to do a big chop before and I loved it and within 8 months it was already back to the length it was before the big chop. I think we have been conditioned to believe that long hair is better when in reality healthy hair is better no matter the length. Blessings.

I think the last 2 years did something to us and now it's time for growth, health, wealth, and happiness. I had to big chop mine because even after cutting 4 inches off it was still breaking every time I ran my fingers through it. I'm no longer stressing over it and I am just on the journey to good health, happiness, and being my best self. I'm here with you on this journey.

Oh my God girl my mom got covid and the side effects caused her hair shed so much that you could stand and see through her hair...her scalp was bald in some areas, she had tons of breakage and a lot of greying... She would look in the mirror and cry about her hair but I didn't know she recently told me about the crying.... I felt so sad and I went to God about it I would just pray about her hair and talk to God about her hair....then He put it in my spirit to get some specific herbs and blend them together in the blender with oil and then I put it on low heat to evaporate any liquid in the oil... I started to use it on my mom's hair two- three times per week... And I continued praying for the good health of my mom's hair and girl let me tell you God is bringing my mom's hair back rapidly!!!!!! I've never seen her hair grow so fast...not only that but what I realize is that God isn't letting her hair shed... Her once bald edges are no longer bald...and God fixed that in just 4 weeks!!!! Keep in mind that my mom is 55 years old...when I researched the benefits of the herbs my God told me to make in oil they were mega growth ingredients they are so powerful it really slows down hair shed, stimulates a ton of growth, it helped in retaining length on her hair her scalp no longer has dandruff, she no longer has dry itchy irritated scalp, her edges are growing like wild bushes with just 4 weeks they feel so full but they are still growing back... Girl this is just a testimony of my mom the main point of this is that God is AMAZING and their is nothing he can't do... I just prayed for your hair and mercy hair...I declared growth, thickness, good health, healthy scalp etc....in Jesus name...now you just watch out for that hair blessing girl....I also decided to tell you this testimony for you to be motivated to take good care of your hair....May God bless and keep you

Little sister, please don't be saddened. I know exactly what you're going through as I went through this same thing about 10 months ago. What we failed to realize is how tied our hair is to our emotions. My hair totally fell out. I looked like someone who had alopecia, no disrespect to anyone here. Since I've been developing my own natural hair care line over the past couple of years, my fiancé was really amazing in getting me out of my hair depression. I wasn't as brave as you are to Chronicle my journey back to healthy hair. I was way too ashamed. So please, I know life can be impossibly stressful but always remember that God will always have your back sis. Hugs and kisses to my beautiful niece, Nadia.

On point, but I'd like to add that it's way deeper than just our emotions. Our hair is tied to us spiritually & when we're off in the spiritual realm, so the flesh/hair follows. In a worldly sense, it could be our overall health, too. But everythang will be completely off if our spirits ain't aligned right w TMH.

For anemia- start incorporating green leafy veggies like spinach, kale watercress into smoothies. Start drinking more water too, this misturizes one from the inside out. What we eat & dri k affects our hair & overall health. Research msm if you choose 1 scoop into daily routine will add in hair journey along with rosemary, rosemary , rosemary to control hair shedding. Rosemary tea rinses, rosemary into hair spritzes & by all cost avoid heat on your strands. Your pantry will help rebuild your hair stronger, better & you control these things better than store bought hair products. If DIY is not your desire, even the smallest tweaks to store bought goods will build your hair. Meaning on wash day boil hot water then either add fresh or dry rosemary to steep. The longer the steeping process the more concentrated. 1 cup as a spritz, add some glycerin as a humectant, a few drops of an essential oil (tea tree) for healthy scalp & peppermint to stimulate scalp & a few drops of an oil of your choice store in fridge. As a hair final rinse & do not rinse out. One can use the plain steeped water or add an essential oil etc. Fyi.. research both coffee & green tea. Our strands like both. Can be brewed as a rinse, spritz & blended into hair masks too. Happy healthy hair journey.

Stylist did jumbo twists, didnt ratio the hair correctly and it was a bit tight. Used small sections of hair with large amounts of braiding hair. Hair kept twisting at the roots. Ended up loosing 3 inches, scalp became inflamed and hair started falling out. Ive been nursing my crown back to health and am uncomfortable with anyone else touching my hair. I lost a lot of my hair during the pandemic while I was pregnant. I ended up pregnant with twins, abandoned, and homeless with my other children. We lived in a shelter then transitional housing for a year. I had my twins in this environment and faced a lot of stress and depression. Also had my oldest graduating high school and was supporting her and just remaining strong for my other kids while I was internally struggling. Things have turned around now but anything that interrupts your routine and throws your life into imbalance will absolutely ruin your hair! Good to see you’re getting back to you!! I’m getting back to me also if you’re wondering. ☺️

See, the thing about hair is that it's so personal. When I went through what Mercy went through, I was coming from 30 inches of 4c hair and went to 24...I was devastated, despite people around me saying "Oh no, I would kill for your hair!". Now that it is 26 inches again, I am starting to feel better. I know that you meant well and meant no harm to Mercy, but the "still looks super long and healthy" part is not the best to tell someone when they feel the most beautiful with their hair much longer/thicker and *actually* long and healthy *to them* . My hair was still huge and long to *other people* at 24 inches (I keep it stretched to avoid breakage), but an entire 6 inches went poof and it took actual work and extra time to nurse it back to the 26 that I have now. What is beautiful to you on someone else when they are used to feeling even more beautiful to themselves, could be devastating to them to show others. We should maybe focus on encouraging her to maintain her good haircare practices so that she grows it back rather than trying to get her to feel good about something horrible that happened to her hair.

@@sciencemageTV totally agree with you, hence the “… to me”. Also acknowledging the space she is in, I wished her all the best and went further to encourage her by reminding her that her beautiful mane will be back in no time, because she said she is in a better space and will focus on investing in growing her hair again. Her hair is still beautiful and long to me, that does not invalidate how she feels, also does not stop her from investing in growing her hair, and I will be right here learning from her because I am on a journey to growing mine. Well done to you for getting your hair to 26 inches, may it continue growing longer and healthier.

There is so much your body needs in order for you to be healthy and produce healthy hair. For example, when you take your iron, make sure that your supplement includes suphur and you should also take vitamin C. Those 2 work with the iron to make it bioavailable to your bloodstream and body. You also need zinc, but you shouldn't take zinc when you take iron because they counteract with one another. You need a good high quality B complex, as well. Do some research to find out which vitamins, minerals and amino acids are necessary for healthy hair. You will certainly come across informative articles online. Then find out which foods contain what you need and try to eat organic foods as much as possible. Pesticides and bad chemicals in our food do more damage to the human system than we realize. I don't eat out as much any more because restaurants often go for quantity over quality and the patrons unwittingly suffer.

I lost my mom 2 yrs ago in April. It is a long hard road, but you'll get through, eventually. I will pray for your peace of mind and to uplift your spirit during this time. I am so sorry for your profound loss, love. Plz try not to let yourself get lost in the depression of it all. That makes it so much harder to get out of. (Easier said than done, I know!) Take care of yourself and stay strong.

@@jduce68 Thank you ❤, very much! My dad passed in March 2020, so it hasn't been quite 2 years of his passing. It's a lot, and I'm just taking every thing a moment at a time. It's sad when siblings aren't much help in the process, though.

@@letonyawilliams2627 My God! I'm sorry about the loss of your dad too. You took the words right out of my mouth! The lack of support from my siblings is almost as upsetting as the loss. We are all we have now, but we aren't treating each other with the support that we should. I chalk it up to grief. We (and you all) are processing it differently, I guess. I'm gonna try harder to get mine together and you do the same! You are not alone. Be blessed, love.

I’m going through a regrowth journey too. I put a chemical in my hair after being almost 6 years natural thinking it would be easier to manage my hair. But much to my surprise the Wave Nouveau just made my hair thin. After my 3rd application I said no more. So I’m transitioning this time and I’m 3 months in. I will keep watching your videos because you inspire me!! ❤️

God bless you and I can relate. I'm in my fifties and had long hair all my life. I went through a stressful time caring for my elderly parents and was too exhausted to care for my hair. It got so tangled and the natural hair stylist said it had to be cut. I shed many tears, but it is growing back.

I washed my hair yesterday and cried because of the breakage and hair lose. I’m going to start my journey today. Good luck hun!

I was in a car accident last June and with everything I had, I didn’t stress. I was grateful to walk away unharmed. Yet and still, three months later, my hair started to shed…a lot. Last week was the first week that my shed ball wasn’t as big as my palm. I so understand the trauma of hair loss and having to begin again. I too chose to trim away and not do a big chop. My hair is noticeably thinner but I’m working to get back what God gave me. I am going to go on the journey with you. It’s better to have support than to go alone. I’m pray you are fully restored and blessed beyond what you had. 💙

Stress plays a huge factor in hair loss. I had to do a big chop last November. My hair just kept breaking and wouldn't stop. I tried everything for breakage and nothing helped . I don't know if I'm going to regrow it as yet. I'm rocking the short boy cut and I'm kinda liking it for now. Mercy if it's one thing I know is that you know how to get your hair back to health. Very soon we will all be like 😙 👍 🥰 ☺ 😍 👌 😙

Omg! I needed this video today! I flat ironed my hair a month ago. I used grease after my hair got puffy and braided it back. When I took out my braids last week my hair was falling out, I almost cried. I was so frustrated and I almost cut it off. I posted my 26 inches of 4c natural hair on Reddit a few days ago. Mercy, you did EXACTLY what I recommend doing, and I know from personal experience! I am not sure what caused you hair to thin at the ends like that as yet (haven't watched earlier videos), but for me it was the Revlon One-Step Paddle brush dryer. It ripped my fine strands apart after only 6 total uses within 2 years! I am glad that you found out what was causing yours and knew how to fix it without a drastic big chop. We love to see it!
