Awesome tutorial, awesome results 👏 Family that reupholster together, stays together 😂, I just helped my husband to redo 4 dining chairs, they may not be perfect but oh so much more clean and comfortable - I kept them for the vintage woodwork ❤

You made those corners look easy. I thought I was smart getting better quality marine grade vinyl but doing the corners is a challenge. Yours almost stretched even like rubber. Well done!

Excellent video. Straight to the point. I Need to recover 4 dining room chairs and did not know where to go get the foam or then how to cut it……Just need to go down to my local Hobby Lobby 🙄. Lol. Thank you. Good to know I need at least 3”s extra for the fabric too. Good instructions, thanks!!

The corners came out beautiful though. I have to try that. But thats because we don't get 3 inches of fab to pull. In reality you do not need so much staples like herringbone style i have seen. Nice final product

Am I the ONLY one here frustrated that when I pull the corners, the wrinkles simply move to the center of the sides?! I’m doing everything like he says and my corners are not working. What am I doing wrong!
@D.I.Y._All-in-OneАй бұрын
Just keep pulling as hard as you can and eventually it should stretch the wrinkles out.
@DesertDog2Ай бұрын
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One thanks. But I found another video where he didn’t waste so much material, used a heat gun and made simple cuts at the corners. Had each chair finished in 5 minutes each and used far less vinyl than you do, and a lot less work!! My chairs look fabulous thanks to his video.
@ianhynes8439Ай бұрын
He may be using a more moldable vinyl meaning more stretchy then some other brands..
@DesertDog2Ай бұрын
@@ianhynes8439 maybe. But a heat gun (or even hair dryer) and making cuts in the corners makes the most sense and uses a lot less vinyl. And is a faster method.
@97dsm20126 ай бұрын
You should invest into a dedicated staple puller. It's $15 well spent if you use it every day.
@jasonsabbagh46312 жыл бұрын
If the padding is in good shape and the chair has minimal flaking, can I just pull it over the original vinyl?
@D.I.Y._All-in-One2 жыл бұрын
You can but you see the existing damage on cushion show through to the new vinyl, may look bumpy or not smooth.

I've had my dining table for 14yrs and I'm going to be reupholstering my dining chair soon. I'm wondering, how many times can this be done, throughout the life of the chair?

As long as the frame remains in good shape, you can reupholster as many times as you want.
