Great vid as always. I'll be looking for the nitrogen when I go to the depot later today. The one thing you mentioned that I have to deal with every year are the voles!!!! They wreck so much havoc on my lawn that I have to use a mole/vole deterrent (don't know if I can mention the product here) to drive them out of my yard. The burrowing they do during their winter vacay in my yard leaves my lawn feeling like I'm going to fall through. I truly believe that's one of the main reasons I have such a hard time all season with my lawn. It takes a few weeks just for the soil to harden up. It's so stressed out at the beginning, I believe that's why it takes so long to green up and thrive. So, I thank you for the tips and for mentioning my arch nemesis this time of year.

It should be fine man to be honest, most people say that the clippings offer more nutrients for the grass but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

Personally, I Power rake every year, 40 years and the results are terrific. I did try the light raking a few years 1st, but the results were not as good, so I followed up with the power raking. You need to get all the dead grass, leaves twigs off your lawn and stimulate your soil - light raking does not have the same positive results. In my opinion Power raking is the key. don't go down too deep, but lightly scratch the surface. The results pay off within 2 weeks after power raking.

Hi Allyn, I got your lawn plan and have Pre-Emergant here in two days. I have a seriously neglected lawn from an owner that didn't live here and new construction for my house. I know you say don't do spring seeding. But I have a serious amount and mix of weeds. Should I use Tenacity with a fertilizer like Anderson and throw down seed. I am really looking for a fast recovery. Then hopefully next year not have to do any spring seeding. I truly believe I have an extreme situation this spring. I'm in East Central Jersey. The concern is that its so much the pre-emergent won't stop enough and if I put down flagship it may cause more of those weeds to come back.
