A lot of people can sing Riffs/Runs, but many have trouble applying them to actual SONGS when appropriate. This brief explanation and exercise will help your conceptual understanding of how modern improvisation works.
Sing a basic pentatonic sequence on each Major Scale degree and APPLY it to "Do a Deer" from the Sound of Music!

How do you do a clean run? Like when I do runs they sound like I’m falling down a ladder instead of stepping on each step lol. It sounds all jumbled up it doesn’t sound like I’m hitting each note clearly and then going to the next one really fast. Thank u!

Have you tried incorporating vibrato? Vibrato will is the keu to make your slide down like stopping on in-between notes quickly

What if I don’t have enough wind to finish a run? I have wind for 6 bars instead of 8. I’ve always been short winded even when I practice using less air.

Try speeding up the video using the KZbin settings. It will make the riff faster, but it could help you to get through the exercise without running out of breath.
