Matt, the thing I love about you man is the fact that you show how "human" you are. You are constantly assessing and analyzing your game, trying to improve and build off each round. It's cool to hear your commentary as you walk us through these rounds, explaining your techniques, decision making (both good & bad), and how to love this game again. At the end of the day...YOU ALWAYS HAVE FUN MAN!!! 💪⛳💯 Seriously can't wait to get out in your neck of the woods sometime!

As much as I love many golf youtube channels, this is the only one I can honestly say has improved my game. I have gone from averaging in the mid 90’s to averaging in the mid 80’s with forays into the high 70’s. The only thing that changed is the way I approach the game. Thanks Matt!

This channel is amazing. Helping me have fun on the golf course again. Turns out my mental game needed fixed first. Now any course is my sanctuary. Met a stranger today played around had good conversation non golf related relaxed and shot an 83 my best score in years. Waddachannel!

I completely agree! Last time I played I started double-double-par-bogey... as a 6 handicapper I could’ve lost it and get mad at it... but instead I changed my approach to that situation and started thinking I wanted to enjoy that day... I ended up shooting 41-37 (+6) which is my handicap... 3 birdies and a lot of great par saves made my day! Thanks for sharing and keep playing stress free golf, best advice ever! Waddaplaya

100% agree on your "no chunk" swing thought regarding shoulders. The beauty of it is that it's ultra-simple. So even if you haven't played/practiced in a while, and you're out there and faced with your first chip shot in ages, you can hold on to that swing thought, and there's no "touchy-feely" involved. Just rotate those shoulders through the ball.

My handicap has gone from 7 to 5 this season - I owe a lot of that to your course management advice. I used to bang the driver everywhere and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to get out of the trees or over from the wrong fairway. I started teeing off with a 3 iron on any hole less than 400 yds, knowing that I would have an 80+ percent chance of being in the fairway off the tee - being on the green in regulation is WAY more important that showing off that 320 yard drive into the lumber yard.... Thanks Matt!

Great stuff! I needed this Monday Matt! Started +9 after 4 holes (ugh), but got it together (thanks to some earlier videos about 'things could be worse in life') and started playing better. One of those weird rounds where you don't like the score but also don't think you hit it that bad. Just got in some dicey area on those first four which ate up strokes.........

Thanks for the great advice, Matt. I've gone from tearing up my scorecard after starting poorly, to practicing a new mantra after every poor shot: "How can I make par from here?" A favorite George Knudson quote is "It's not so important what you do, as what you intend to do." I get that now.

Matt, on hole 16 what I would’ve done is clubbed up 1 or 2 clubs and played the ball towards the front of my stance with a slightly open club face and gone over the palm trees. Your lie was upwards meaning it would’ve been super easy to get a higher launch angle even with a 8i or 7i. Cheers! I enjoy your videos so much

Matt, in 2013 when i started golf, I decided to start with putting b/c i always heard that was what mattered. practiced 3ft putts, then practiced 20 ft putts trying to get it in just 2 shots. Then i practiced chips and bump&runs. It was two weeks before i would practice with something other than my PW and putter. The point of my story as you can guess...i went from 125+ hitter to 105 in 2 weeks. Its hilarious being a 100+ golfer and hitting a 20yard chip that stops 1 foot from the hole...people give you that look of "wtf just happened"

I watched this video last night and then completely replicated (my version) of it today. I'm a 23 hdcp, +8 after 2 holes (WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!), finished the round +21, not a bad score for me, would have been one of the best scores I've had, had I just bogeyed the first 2 instead of going quad-quad. I watch your videos so often now that when I play and I'm thinking about strategy, I hear your voice in my head instead of my own! hahaha, ridiculous!

14:05 - could you not have opened up the club face and swung an out-to-in shape?
